Chapter 5

Jeremy’s POV

I’m sitting on the couch, flipping through stupid shows on the television, and waiting very impatiently for Liz to get here. I can’t wait to see that beautiful smile or those haunting eyes. After talking with Dr. Harper today, I’m more confused than ever about that dream. I mean, I know that they were similar in that dream, Kori and Liz, with the whole not talking and everything, but why did I dream of that? Maybe it’s the eyes and the smile. I’m almost positive that Liz just reminds me of Kori.

Just then, the doorbell rings. Standing up from the couch and turning off the television, I straighten out my clothes and walk over to let Liz in. When I open the door, I am taken back. She is gorgeous. I mean, she is dressed plainly in jeans and a shirt, but something about her is breathtakingly beautiful. Then, I realize, it’s those eyes and that smile. I can’t seem to shake this strange feeling that something is right as I look at her.

“Come… come on in.” I really hope that she didn’t notice my slight stutter. She completely makes me tongue-tied every time I see her.

“Thank you.” She says with a smile as she walks past me, looking around my living room while I shut the door.

“Would you like a tour?”

She nods her head and I take her around my home, showing her my office and guest bedroom. I walk her past the guest bathroom and then come to my bedroom. I open the door, thanking God that I decided to organize it a bit before she got here. I tell her that the master bath is off of my bedroom, not something that she needs to know, but I find myself not knowing what else to talk to her about.

I walk her into the kitchen, where I grab a stack of take-out menus, not really knowing what kind of foods she likes. We walk back into the living room and both sit down on the couch, leaving a small space between our bodies and it’s almost like there is electricity between us. I feel it every time I am around her and it feels incredible.

As we are going through the menus, she grabs three of them, not really sure what she is in the mood for. She actually picked my three favorite places to choose from. Even weirder than that is they were Kori’s three favorite places and types of food as well. There is the Chinese place that is down the street from me, the pizza place that has amazing pizza’s and subs, and the third menu is the bar and grill that is about ten minutes away. They make the best ribs I have ever eaten in my life. Kori and I actually used to go there all the time and eat until we wanted to die.

“I want this one!” She exclaims about twenty seconds after grabbing the menus. It’s the bar and grill that I used to go to with Kori. Another interesting turn of events if I may say so.

“Okay. Sounds good. I’ll have to go pick it up though. Would you like to come with me or stay here when I have to go?”

“I’d like to go.” She says giving me a radiant smile and I almost get lost in those piercing eyes.

She starts looking through the menu, getting this perplexed kind of expression on her face, one that I had seen somewhere before. Kori used to get that same look when she was trying to make up her mind about something. It wouldn’t matter the size of the dilemma, it would always be the same cute face. Nose scrunched up, eyes squinted, and bottom lip being bitten on.

“Okay. I want the ribs and French fries. Could you ask them to put in a side of barbeque sauce? I like to dip my fries.” She states then continues to bite on her bottom lip.

Holy fuck! The similarities are too weird. That’s exactly what Kori used to order. I would always make fun of her cause I liked my fries with ranch dressing. Dipped in barbeque sauce was always just wrong in my opinion.
