??? POV

'We need to keep running. They're catching up.' We all kept running through the forest, dodging trees, branches, and bushes.

"They're still behind us!" He cried out, fear clearly heard in his voice. "I can't-- ah!" I heard a thud behind me and turned around to see him on the ground with his foot stuck in a hole. The bandage around his eyes were already stained red with blood and his blue hair was covered with dirt and was very visible in his white streak. His light blue ears were down with fear.

"Hang on!" She yelled, her silver eyes filled with panic. Her purple hair was covered in dirt to but not as bad as his. We both ran to him and helped try to get his foot unstuck. We suddenly heard footsteps running towards us.

"Go! Leave me!"

I shook my head while she yelled, "Hell no! We did not get this far just to leave one of us behind!" We finally got his foot unstuck and helped him up.

He looked in the direction the footsteps were coming from and said, "We're not gonna out run them. Not like this."

"Agreed. Anyone got a plan?" I shook my head and so did he. "Well. . . we could split up and meet at the rendezvous." I looked at her like she was crazy.

"What?!" He yelled.

"At least it'll be hard for them to track us and we get away from less number of them! It's all we have!"

"But I don't know where to go!" He yelled.

"We don't have any other choice!" I looked at him silently asking if this was a safe choice and he sighed.

"She's right. It's our only option. I'll go northwest and hopefully stay in that direction."

"I'll go northeast. That means you go north." I nodded and she hugged us tightly.

"Please be safe." He said while she faced him in his direction.

"Don't worry. We will. See you guys on the other side." She then ran off.

"Be safe." He then ran off and soon so did I.

I didn't know how long I ran for but I didn't hear anyone chasing me so I stop by a tree, leaning against it, catching my breath. My lungs burned and my body was exhausted. I wanted to just collapse here and rest but I couldn't. I needed to meet up with the others before sunrise. I was about to start running again when I heard a twig snap and quickly turned around, looking around scared. I soon saw a deer walking out and relaxed a bit, however, when I looked down at it's leg, I saw barbed wire around it. I felt sad looking at the deer and carefully walked up to it, holding out my hand. The deer backed away so I stopped. I still let my hand out and guestered to it. The deer cautiously made it's way over to me and sniffed my hand. It soon nuzzled my hand letting me know that it trusted me. I slowly went down to it's leg and started to take off the barbed wire. It hurt my hands but I ignored it and soon got it off. It looked like it didn't leave any injures behind so I got up and pet it. 'You're good to go now.' The deer licked my hand and then ran off. I took this as a sign that I should probably keep running. I turned back north and started to run again. I was running for a almost an hour, if I had to guess, when I need to stop. I leaned against a tree and decided to look at my shoulder. I carefully pulled off the cloth I had tied around it and looked at my wound. It looked bad and was most likely going to be infected. One of the men had shot me when we were running and didn't have time to properly treat it. Even if we did we have nothing to treat it with. I grabbed a new cloth from my pocket and wrapped it up around the wound and sighed. 'Just how far is this rendezvous? At least no one is chasing me.' I regretted my choice of words because right as I thought that, an arrow hit the tree just an inch from my head. I screamed and started to run. 'Shit, shit, shit! A tracker found me!' I kept running, feeling the wind of the arrows fly right by me, making me even more scared. I looked behind me to see how close they were but found that it was a grave mistake. I ended up tripping over something and tumbled down a steep hill, hitting branches and rocks. My head hit on something hard making me stop and cry out in pain. Everything was blurry, a loud ringing was in my ear, and I felt something warm and wet running down my forehead. I tried to get up, but pain shot through my leg, making me fall. 'Damn it. I think it's sprained.' I heard footsteps slowly walking up to me and looked up slightly and saw the tracker looking down at me.
