It was late.
It was raining and it was cold.
I've been waiting for him to get back for some time now.
I know that he can always get out of trobule easily.
But also can get into trouble easily.
Even tonight I know he will be back with new wounds and injuries. He will tell me something happened and he coulnd't do anything about it, but the truth is he hurts himself on purpose.
I suddenly heard doors slam. I stood and went to check if it was him.
"Dazai?"
"Yo, Odasaku~ Sorry it took so long." Dazai said and grinned. "Not every bird wanted to sing at first."
"I see." I replied. "You're soaking wet." I walked over to him and touched his cheek. "And cold. You should go change."
"Yes, yes. Can I borrow your stuff, pleaaase?" he asked with puppy eyes.
I sighed.
"Sure. But take a bath first. I'll make you some tea to warm you up."
"Thanks, Odasaku." Dazai smiled.
I went to make tea.

Some time passed, tea was ready and Dazai came back in my shirt that was, obviusly, a little too big for him. But that's what he liked about wearing my clothes, and I woulnd't complain too.
"Hey, hey, can you help me with these?" Osamu asked.
"Sure." I replied. "Come here."
He sat down. I prepared hydrogen peroxide and bandages and looked at him.
Wound on the cheek, under eye, scarred neck, arms and legs full of new injuries. He looked like he just came back from some war. I felt kinda pity, for his small, skinny body, that has to be hurt so many times.
I started with face. He complained a lot, that it hurts.
"But I have to make it better, right? Now, now. I'll try to be more gentle, okay?" I told him.
He just puffed up his cheeks, but didn't say anything.

Time passed.
When I was busy with his arms, I noticed that he's very quiet today. He seemed off and his head in the clouds.
"You know, they won't heal if you keep scratching them off." I started conversation.
"I can't help it. I always feel the udge to do this. And it's so satysfaing." he replied.
"Dazai. You shoulnd't hurt yourself. That's what I want to tell you." I frowned.
He just smiled. No word again.
I bandaged his hands. They were really thin. His white skin contrasted with dark red wounds between his fingers.
"And what happened today?" I asked, already knowing his answer.
"Not careful enough with a weapon. It was an accident." he said.
I frowned again.

Time passed.
"All done."
He got up and looked at his body.
"Thanks, Odasaku." he smiled.
Seconds later, his face was empty.
"Dazai, is something wrong?" I asked.
He looked at me, then walked over and rested his head on my collarbone.
So something was wrong.
"Just a little... tired." he said.
"You sure?"
"Yes. Can we go to sleep now?"
"If you want to."

I woke up in the middle of the night. I felt a strong grip on my arm.
I turned on the light and saw that it was Dazai, holding my hand like it was a lifetime.
He was still asleep, but probably haunted by some nightmares.
Who would think, that Dazai Osamu, the most feared person in the Port Mafia could look this defenceless, so vulnerable like a normal person asleep?
He really was thin. My shirt only made it more obvious. His skin pale, you coulnd't distingish it from bandages. His face was tense. I started to stroke his head gently.
Suddenly he woke up with shudder, scared.
"Dazai, what's wrong?" I asked calmly.
"Oda...saku?" he looked at me with tears in his eyes.
I just moved closer and hugged him. He was all tense.
"It's alright, now, now. It was just a dream, Dazai." I tried to calm him down.
"Oda..." he grabbed my hand tighter.
"Shhh... I'm here, I'm not leaving you alone. It's okay." I kissed his forehead.
Who would think, that someone this strong is still like a lost child?

,,Thank you, Odasaku."
