"Ah."
It was more like a croak than a cry. That was the only noise Lily could make. Grace's head was knocked clean off. It rolled aimlessly across the blood-splattered floor.
"They have such slim and delicate necks."
The beast licked the blood off his spear. It gazed at Lily with bloodthirsty eyes.
Lily took a step back. She tried to think of something--anything--to do in this situation. Screams erupted throughout the classroom as the remaining creatures turned their attention to the rest of the students, their weapons slicing through them like a knife through butter. A film of red seemed to cloud Lily's eyes as she watched, silently frozen in place.
"Let me kill this one, my lord."
"Go ahead."
The Elf-like creature grabbed Lily's neck, nails piercing her skin.
"Watch as your comrades die."
Lily tried to pry the monster's hand away. She tried to dig her fingers into its skin. Her grip weakened as the beast squeezed harder. She opened her mouth but couldn't gasp for air. Her vision gradually darkened as her body went limp.
A flash of light suddenly came from her mouth. Soon her whole body glowed a shimmering gold.
"What is this?" The Lord yelled.
The beast dropped Lily out of shock. Everyone froze as Lily's body illuminated an angelic light.

"Congratulations, you've met the conditions to become Enlightened."
Lily was in a dark room. A spotlight illuminated where she was standing. She saw two wheels. One was made out of wood; the other was cast from iron. In front of her was a masked man. He was wearing a white mask, a black and white striped suit, and a large top hat with the same pattern.
"Now, please pull this lever to see what aptitude of power you will have."
Lily pulled the lever instinctively.
It spun for what seemed like ages. The wheel slowed, and just when she thought it would land on four, the needle slowly inched to number five.
"Oof, tough luck," the man grimaced. "Well, I suppose we can't all be winners. Now do the next one."
She grabbed the iron wheel and spun it with as much strength as she could muster. Despite how heavy the wheel was, Lily was still able to give it a good spin.
It spun for a few seconds and slowed. It landed right on the line between two symbols. The symbol on the right had the shape of a yellow thunderbolt. The left side was a dark, intricate symbol.
"Well, this is interesting."
The dark symbol faded from the board. The man grinned maliciously through his mask.
"Before you leave, I am required to allow you to ask one question."
Lily's mind was frantic.
'What should I ask? What if it's like how you have to be specific when asking a genie to grant your wish? *internal screaming*'
She pursed her lips for a moment and then exhaled sharply.
"How do I use my powers to their fullest potential?"
"Hmm, sly one you are. Most people aren't that specific."
He gripped his chin and thought for a moment."You will be able to see the flow of electricity. Gather it to one point of your body and release it."
