Y/N discovers Hoshi is quitting his team not because he gave up his passion but he needs to earn money for his mother’s hospital fee. Y/N also realizes he’s her childhood friend.

Hoshie , it's you "y/n said as she look at his mother"

He wants a hug and she reluctantly gives it. Wonwoo sees this. He’s jealous. That’s probably the accelerator he needs. At lunch he stands next to her seat without a sound. He wants to sit in her seat when everywhere around her is empty. She tries to ask him if there’s something he wants to ask of her but he’s like there’s nothing. 

Don't talk while eating "wonwoo said"

Y/N hum in response

Are you that close to hoshi ?? "Wonwoo asked"

Don't talk while eating "y/n said"

Answer my question first "wonwoo said"

He is my childhood bestfriend "y/N said"

Wonwoo nod his head at response

Wonwoo is back in his dorms and his friends are conveniently talking about how to confess and how to test if the girl likes you. There’s three checks: talk to you, talk to you about her private matters, hangs out with you alone.
Wonwoo tests this out at the library with Y/N. He sits at her table. She happens to have a question for him. She wants to know how he got his previous part-time job. She starts sharing details of her younger days. Wonwoo's heart is filled with love; she fits two of the criteria already. There’s only the last test left. He asks her to go to a place but she tells him she doesn’t have time. He’s pouting.
Or I think he’s pouting!
Y/N notices and explains she really doesn’t have the time. She needs to work. Thus he asks her if she has the time would she go. It’s a little awkward now and he clarifies it’s for school. She’s likes of course. His heart drops. 

Y/N is bullied by immature boys after she stepped up for Jennie .
Who’s her knight? It’s Qin Shen.
He shows up as her boyfriend to clear the boys. He takes her hand and guides her away. The two continue to chat while holding hands. She says it was her who technically started it. He teases her that he should have minded his own business then. He then purposely lets go of her hand. She corrects herself and thanks him for saving her, for being the knight to save the damsel in distress. Technically, she said a Chinese idiom: “hero saves the beauty”. Wonwoo picks at her words, “Beauty? You?” Snickers. But the one last to laugh is not him. He didn’t just go out randomly to save her. He was supposed to fetch his friend’s lunch but now he returns empty-handed.

Hoshi  hears rumours that Wonwoo and Y/N are dating. He asks Y/N  about it. Wonwoo overhears and smiles. But that smile disappears when Y/N adamantly denies the rumours. That doesn’t stop wonwoo from approaching her with any means. When he hears she applied for the job that a professor is offering him, he immediately takes the offer just to work with her. They’re part-time art teachers at this school for children. Y/N overhears the other teachers gossip that only one of them (her or wonwoo) can stay. 

There’s a work dinner. Wonwoo tries to drink for Y/N but she doesn’t want to be overshadowed by him even in drinking so she takes all of her own drinks. It’s later that he reveals they’re not competitors for the same job. He snickers at her for even considering to be his competition, lol. 

Jennie purposely falls over as they’re walking back to the dorms. Y/N can’t get her up. It takes a lot of begging from Y/N to get wonwoo  to piggyback her.

Just what did she do to wonwoo  for him to hate her so much!! I thought the show would explain by now.

After they drop off jennie ,  Y/N apologizes to wonwoo for thinking he’s her competitor for the job. 

Wonwoo clarifies: I am never your enemy. 

Y/N brushes off that romantic comment by saying she can’t beat him anyways. Wonwoo pulls her aside to talk. He’s annoyed that she’s trying to hook him up with Jennie . Y/N swears she isn’t. He’s a little comforted hearing that.

Hoshi is given a sports contract that’s ten years. It practically guarantees his career but there’s one stipulation that’s bothering him: he cannot date within the ten years he's signed. 

Wonwoo and Y/N are off work. She was supposed to get to teach her own class but after some smooth talking from wonwoo, they continue to teach together. As Y/N is waiting for the bus, everyone is staring and laughing at her. Wonwoo follows her onto the bus; he remains closely behind her. When she feels he’s too close, she tries to move but he traps her.
