I was caught in a thunderstorm, lightning danced across the sky thunder cracked with a loud boom. Rain pelted down hard and I didn't know where I came from or where I was going. I forced myself to put one foot in front of the other I had to find some where to settle down for the night. I get so caught up in that, that I haven't realized the water started rising up to my knees,I walked into something thing hard and stumbled backwards slipping and sliding falling in the water. A wave of water washed over me,it carries me a few paces before my head hit against something It sounded like a wooden Door a hear a creak of an old door I look up. My head is reeling from that bump against the door but I see a boy his piercing blue eyes i try to say hello but another wave of water rushes over me and I black out.
I wake up to a foggy morning but I am not on the grass I am on a wooden floor then I realized the boy must of helped me out. "That was one nasty storm eh?",a voice said from behind me I whip around to see the boy he had black hair and blue eyes,he was tall and skinny. "Suppose to be an even worse one tonight",he said blinking"you call stay here?",he asked"well only if you what you I'll give you time to think"and with that he whirled around and walked off his footsteps echoing on the floor. I follow him but hesitate for a moment or two this place is huge ,to huge to be a house"if you do decide to stay let me show you around",he said"oh iam Edgar by the way". So he showed me around the abandoned school each room was decorated with paint and all kinds of things In the library there was book after book expect a bookshelf caught my attention. It was filled with things I couldn't even see all the way up there. Next two the book shelf stood a swing and a ladder. I jumped at the sound of Edgar popping of beside me "ah yes"he said"twenty-two and one shelves". 'Trinkets and treasures untold",Edgar stated "impressive",I breathe "I suppose",he said nonchalantly. There was a loud chime that echoed around the whole school Edgar jumped and smiled darting off I ran after him what was it I thought what so oh what's the word exciting about this place? Edgar Swings open the door on its hinges there at the door is a woman. She has long gray hair woven into braids And she's short and her blue eyes shine with amusement. "Ah mrs price",Edgar said"what do you have today?". "Now Edgar who is this?",she said her eyes focusing on me. "Oh that's just Ellie she staying with me"he paused looking anxious "well only if she wants to care to join me for some ice cream miss Ellie?". I help miss price with her bags as Edgar wonders off some where. My stomach growls loudly but I stop to chat with mrs price "I know Edgar is a little strange and I won't blame you if you don't want to stay but Edgar needs company other than me or he'll go into flat out hysteria",she said. "Now go eat something dear put a little bit of fat on you",she said chuckling.
This was my chance to start again I thought to myself a chance to leave that behind me. I wasn't homeless by choice and finding food with out breaking the law got you pretty creative and the constant moving was good exercise, but its not a life people dream to have. A delicious smell drifts through the air and I forgot about Edgar invite for ice cream. I follow it to the kitchen where Edgar is siting two large bowls of pink ice cream and there is spilled friuty pebbles cereal every where. Edgar looks at me with a sheepish grin "I am sorry it just sort of happened". "Thanks and that's ok",I say I am definitely not going to turn down ice cream just because it had cereal on it. Edgar and I ate the ice cream together and got full I don't remember the last time I got full or the last time I had ice cream when people threw it out it was stale or melted. I push that thought into the back of my mind, Edgar leads me down a hall" that's my room one door down "he opens a door this is yours sorry I don't dust often",he said. My own room my own room I thought I lay down on the bed I put my back pack on the floor it had very little in it but It was mine. I laid down on the soft bed and wondered what mrs price meant by strange.
