The sun set on Chararyman Corp.
Workers left to go home to their families, the lot emptied, and the sky grew dark.
Outside, a lone gazelle stood by a car, waiting, her hands working at her phone.
She looked nervous in the blue light of her screen, and was just about to send another message when the sound of footsteps made her look up.
And a relieved, happy smile came over her face.
"Komiya!" she rushed him, bouncing with excitement.
"Tsunoda," he returned, the jovial look on his face. "I'm sorry I kept you waiting! Busy day! How long have you been out here?" He unlocked the doors and allowed her in.
"Five minutes."
"Unheard of! I'll make it up to you."
She settled into the seat next to him, and he gently placed his forehead against hers. "Busy day?"
She giggled. "Extra busy. Posted an entire three whole posts today. Got a whole 2k altogether."
Komiya gave her a playful look. "I meant at work, but alright. Now that's impressive."
"And you?" Tsunoda asked, putting her hand on his.
Komiya hesitated. "I- it was great. Think I'm really impressing the higher ups."
Tsunoda noted the hesitation in his voice. She knew Komiya, knew when he was hiding something, and she could read him like a book. Just like her, he was a lot more deep that most people assumed from the surface.
And she loved that depth.
Tsunoda wrapped her arms around his neck, eyes closing in total peace and comfort. "You don't have to pretend with me."
Komiya gently nuzzled her arms with his cheeks, his own eyes fluttering closed and hand reaching up to hold her by the shoulder. He waited a minute, then lowly said, "Fine. It sucked. I got yelled at again. Boss says if I mess up one more time, it might be my job."
The usual confident and plastic smirk on his face was gone, replaced by a nervous twitch on his lips.
"Oh, Komi." Tsunoda soothed. She squeezed him gently, nose and lips brushing the side of his face. "It's all bluster. I mean, Ms. Gori snaps and tells me she's going to take my phone and smash it under her heel all the time."
Komiya snickered and rubbed his nose on hers, a tender smile appearing on both their faces.
It was so nice that at the end of a long day, they were always able to relax, be honest, and vent to one another. They could connect about hating their jobs, and always acting and having to wear a mask for the approval of others.
But they didn't have to with each other. Together, they could be themselves.
"You're much too important," Komiya assured her, turning around and holding her in a tight embrace. "If that ever happened, I'd buy you a dozen new phones."
Tsunoda giggled, eyelashes fluttering flirtatiously. "Oh, Komiya! You're amazing!"
The words sounded much like the hollow words the two gushed when performing to their boss, but they were filled with sincerity, completely legitimate.
She leaned forward and kissed him, her soft lips on his, and he carefully pulled her forward, cradling her neck and head towards him.
They were happy.
Maybe they weren't perfect. Maybe they were two against the world.
But they had each other, and that was all that mattered.
"I love you, Tsuna-Chan."
"I love you too, Komi."
