Fearless Sitting Room
Chapter seven
"So, why am I pretending to be a servant again?" I ask Sofia while tying my shiny hair in a bun.
"Because Dominic knows now, so the only reason a human can be in the castle is because your a servant. Ok?" she ties my dress tight, making me suck in a breath.
"Ouch! Okay, but I'm not going to scrub floors and clean toilets just so I can stay here."
She nods and walks me to the servants hall, "Just explain, it will work out." she smiles and leaves, to go get set up for the ball.
"Anne?" I open the door and find it empty. Ah man. I sit on the table and study the room, it's fairly big, cupboards line one wall, family pictures line the other. The fl-
"Hello." Dominic stands in the door way, his arms crossed and a scowl on his face.
"You know, frowns don't look good on you, Dom." I smile innocently and jump of the table.
"When addressing your employer, you must be polite. Now, I need the sitting room decorated nicely tonight, floors, cleaned and the sofa pillows fluffed. I'm having a very important guest over, and I need her to be impressed. Got it, servant?" he raises and eyebrow with a slight smirk.
"Aye aye caption!" I tease and skip out of the room.
"Why do you skip?" he asks, leading me to the sitting room.
"Why don't you skip?"
"Your ridiculous." he laughs at his joke and opens the door.
"I'm unique." he stops laughing and opens the door.
"Just get to work, servant." he snaps, leaving me in the room.
It's a circular room, windows line every wall. The floor is a white marble and the ceilings have vines painted on them. Red curtains shield me from the sun, casting shadows on the floor. Black couches face on another, looking elagent and sleek.
"Ok, Val, let's get started." I mutter and get to work. I fluff the pillows, clean the floors and dust every surface. In the hallway I ask Adele to bring me some white roses, which she does right away. I put them in bronze pots, lining the walls white there beauty. "Perfect!"
I sit on the one the couches and close my eyes. I feel jealous that Doms bringing a girl into the room I decorated so nicely. It's just because I decorated it, I think. But no, I want him to bring me to this room. Not some other vampire, rich, spoiled girl.
Oh well, he hates me!
"Ehm." I jump up and look around. No ones here so I sit back down. "Excuse me!"
I turn and see Dominc standing there with an amused look at his smug face. His red eyes shine with amusement, but nothing else. Of course not, he doesn't feel the same way.
"Nice job, now go see if Sofia needs help planning the ball. Make sure you don't interrupt me when I bring my guest here." he nods for me to leave, and I hurry out. When I go past him, he catches my arms and lowers his voice, "I mean it. No interruptions."
I gulp and run down the hall. No interruptions, no interruptions. Ok, it's ok. It's not like I have deep feelings for him or anything, he's just attractive and a prince. That's all. But I feel like I know him...
"Valerie! Come on, guests are arriving, let's get your gown on and maybe you'll meet mystery man again!" Sofia pulls me into her room and brings the dress out again.
We get dressed and braid our hair, then go to the great room. Nella is wearing a soft red gown and a gold mask, looking happier then ever. I swallow a growl, knowing she was the woman in the cellar, she was the one who sent Nadia to her death.
