SAKUSA SAT IN THE HUMAN RESOURCE OFFICE, SHIVERING IN
his seat. daishou was telling his side of the story, or, in sakusa's words, lying.

he wiped the blood from his nose, pulling his mask up quickly once the door opened. atsumu peeked in, pulling alex in immediately after.  her eyes locked onto the curly-headed man, eyes softening.

"sakusa??  what happened?" she sat next to him, pulling him into a hug without noticing what she was doing.  she held him for a minute, eyes widening once she realized she was touching him.  "oh!" she pulled away quickly, face turning red.  "i forgot, i'm sor-"

his arms wrapped around her tightly, squeezing her against his chest.  her eyes bulged out, blinking rapidly.  arms wrapping around him slowly, she took the embrace.  their first hug, probably the last.

'he just feels bad for what happened to you, don't flatter yourself.' her thoughts overcrowded her head.  she tried pushing them off.

atsumu stared in disbelief.  he quietly snapped a picture.  sakusa pulled away after a moment, looking at her.  he looked away, crossing his arms once again.

"..are you alright?" he spoke quietly, eyes not sparing to look her way.  she nodded, smiling comfortingly.

"i feel way better than i did this morning.  but the main question is are you okay?"

he nodded and pulled his mask down, revealing his bloody nose.  alex gasped quietly, atsumu wincing.  sakusa pulled the mask back up, looking their way.

"don't worry, he looks 10 times worse, you'll see." alex nodded slowly as atsumu sat on the other side of sakusa, talking to him quietly.  the door opened after awhile, daishou walking out with a social worker.

alex locked eyes with him, feeling immediately intimidated.  never the less, sakusa was right.  daishou was 10 times worse.  not only did he have a busted lip and bloody nose, his left eye was bruised, along with his forehead.  he had a few scattered cuts across his face.

"no more pretty boy, huh?" she blurted out.  he scoffed, chuckling a bit.

"i'm only a pretty boy for you, ain't that right beautiful?" he smiled charmingly, fangs showing.  she nearly popped a blood vessel.  "why don't you tell your friends the truth, hm?  tell them why you really left the event last night."

"huh?" she raised an eyebrow, tilting her head to the side.  the social worker cleared her throat, stepping in.

"suguru told me that last night you and him had a sexual encounter.  he says you didn't want anyone to know and had mr. rintarou pick you up, making you stay at his place." alex's jaw dropped, astounded.

"wait a minute.  that's not the truth and you know it daishou.  you put something in my drink, i became incoherent, you whispered in my ear when i called out for someone that no one was gonna help me-"

"you told me you couldn't remember anything from last night?" sakusa looked at her.  she looked quickly.

"y-yes, i can't remember anything really besides a few things, everything went black after awhile-"

"so then you can remember stuff?" he raised an eyebrow, birth marks raising.  she looked away, face looking kind of frightened.

"i put nothing in your drink, alex.  you can't handle your alcohol. please, next time don't spread rumors. don't make accusations that could hurt someone in the future."

she stared at him in horror before he left the room. her head turned down slowly, not blinking once.

atsumu and sakusa looked at her in disappointment. "you really lied to us, alex? suna too?" atsumu frowned at her, looking more sad than anything.

"atsumu wait i-"

"i'm sorry but you can't just go around spreading stuff like that, alex. that could've really hurt him."

"i hit him for you." sakusa spoke, looking at her blatantly.

"i never told you to." she spat, growing upset. "i can't believe you guys don't believe me."

"how can i believe someone who can't even remember what went on?" sakusa's words hit her heart like a dagger. for some reason, him not believing her hurt more than atsumu.

"i'm sorry, what was that?"

"i said, i can't believe someone who can't even get their story straight. what kind of example are you setting for yourself?"

she looked at him in pure rage and sadness. she shook her head and stood. "i can hold my liquor. he bought me numerous drinks even after i told him i was underage. i left my drink unattended when i went to the bathroom. he was so charming that i felt as if i could trust him. everything went blurry and the last thing i remember is him hurrying me out of the banquet hall as i tried to call you for help. he told me 'there there alex, sakusa doesn't want to help you.  cant you see him over there with another girl?' i don't remember anything after that. is that story fucking good enough for you two?? i have nothing to lie about, i barely know neither of you. i'm glad, we can stay strangers."

alex turned on her heels and walked out of the room while slamming the door.
