You are sitting on a train...

The view around you is what you think about, and the direction of that train changes as you travel through your thoughts.
Your partner, your family, Doing the dishes, cleaning the house, playing with your dog, your boss, the movie your watching, your inner dialogue and everything you think about runs into view on your window.
And the train is going fast, most people don't even know what they are thinking about. They just let thoughts pop into their mind and move on to the next one so fast that they can't think about it or react.

You start going too fast, and the view outside is blurred, distorted and you lose all sense of direction. You panic... trying to find a way to stop or slow down the train.
You get up yell out for a driver, or a train person... but no one shows.
You get frustrated, trying to get the attention of the people to help.
They try to calm you down and tell you everything is fine but you refuse to listen, you get mad because no one understands that the train is going faster every moment and needs to be slowed down.
Your dread keeps overwhelming you, as you notice out the window, the beautiful colours of green, purple and yellow flashing past too quickly... becoming grey, black and bleak, darkening the light on the train.
Everyone stops trying to help you, and sits back down. Faces blurred out so you don't know who they are or where they are going anymore.

Except for one face.
You notice a man, walking up to you, wearing boots, overalls and a baseball cap. He's a little short and a bit fat, but walks towards you with a smile.
"You forget my dear, you are the train driver. You are in complete control of this train, that is how I designed it."
You stare at this man, not knowing who he is and if you believe him or not.

"Are you an engineer or something?"
He smiles
"I guess so! I know everything about this train."
"How do I stop it then?" You say.
he ponders for a moment
"Alright, I will help you. Now... were you paying attention to the beautiful things outside? I designed this train that way so that you would see your thoughts from when you were a baby all the way to now. It moved as you changed, went to different stations, had different people on it, always enjoying the scenery... going which ever way you pleased."
You tell him "No... Its going too fast... I can't see any of it. The people around me come and go so quickly I can barely see them. The window is a blur. When it does slow down, it not for long until I'm racing crazy fast again. Losing memory of when i did enjoy the view and only knowing this dark, lonely grey static in the window."
The man nodded and knew.
"I'm very sorry you have lost your way, this isn't the first time this has happened to one of you, and it definitely won't be the last.
It is a little hard to control at first, some people never get it I'm afraid, and lose control of their train completely! Fly it off a cliff and crash!"

He chuckles a little, and looks you in the eyes.

"Do not fear, I will teach the way to slow it down, and how to keep it there and steady.
I built it myself so I'm the number one guy to talk to!"
He laughs and looks out the window.

"Hey you've slowed down a little! Did you notice?"

You look outside, the grey and black was less blurred then before. The people's faces are becoming recognisable a little as they race around.
You look at the man.
"What happened? What changed?"

He smiles.
"You talked to me, your mind stop racing for a moment. You can think a little clearer, and the train moves a little less faster. Do you remember the colours?"

He holds these familiar colours in his hand. But you don't know what they are called.

"Some forget these colours, and in the window views YOU like, these colours are your favourite!"

The colours leap off his fingers, and paint the world around you. The people don't all look the same anymore, the flashes of grey are now flashes of green, purple and yellow like once before.

"How did you do that?" You ask.

He laughed loudly.

"My job is to help you with your train! Colours are the easy ones, sometimes it's shapes, or voices... Sometimes I have to do all kinds of silly things to get people to listen!"

You look confused again.
He looks at you and smiles.

"You just listening to me works too, but sometimes you don't listen to me, and forget I even exist! But I get it, you run the train. Its a crazy job! I had that job once, and once was enough! Some people find their own ways to run their trains, which is fine!
