It was the middle of the day during lunch at the Senior high. There were many different groups. The popular kids, the nerds, the geeks, the average kids, and the athletic kids. Jack was a pretty athletic kid for his grade and was trying to find his friends, MyKenna, Summer, Brody, and Sean. He sat next to the water fountain in the middle of the courtyard. His friends were talking about what they were going to do for the break.
"I have no idea what this break is even for. I mean all sports are canceled too." Brody was saying.
Brody was a football, hockey, and baseball player. It was the middle of the football season and he was frustrated. Sean and Jack were also on his team. MyKenna was a softball and soccer player, while Summer played volleyball, and was a figure skater.
"Why don't we all just hang out?" Sean suggested.
Everyone agreed, and now they just need to figure out what to do. Lunch was over so they all needed to go back to class. Everyone said their goodbye's knowing that they were just going to see each other at their favorite hangout, Dairy queen. They would go there to do homework and just to hang out some days.
It was the end of the day and Summer was waiting for everyone to get out of class. She had gym class last hour so she was always the first one out. After about 15 minutes of waiting everyone was there. They started walking to Dairy Queen. Although everyone could drive, they still liked walking at times. After about a 20 minute walk they arrived. When they walked in, their normal table was empty and their food, and drinks were set on top of it. They all sat down and started to talk about what they could do.
"What if we go hiking, it's something that everyone here enjoys," Jack suggested.
They decided not to do that and kept talking. After a while, everyone had finished and it was Sean's turn to pay so he did. Right as there were about to leave Wyatt had walked up to them. He got there about 20 minutes ago and was just listening to them.
" Him. What does he want now?" MyKenna had said.
She had hated him because when she had just moved to the school, he would pick on her. After she finally got some friends and learned to defend herself he stopped. She never really got over it though.
"Why don't you go camping in the woods, it's supposed to be nice during the break." Wyatt had said.
MyKenna wanted to roll her eyes but before she had even gotten the chance Wyatt had continued.
"Unless you are just some scared little kids.".
That made MyKenna mad.
"You bet we aren't kids anymore, if anything you're the kid here Wyatt."
MyKenna finally snapped. Wyatt chuckled and left. Summer had walked up to MyKenna and hugged her. Summer knew that MyKenna would get worked up easily. After a while, MyKenna calmed down and they could leave. Everyone told their parents that they were going camping during the break and their parents agreed. Summer offered to borrow her cousin's camper. Brody texted the group chats saying that he could go, and everyone said the same. They made up a time and a place to meet. They were all going to meet at Summer's house at 10:00 am and we're leaving at noon.
