" Happy Valentine's Day," I said, shoving the box of chocolate towards Josh.
He laughed, admiring the lace that bordered the red plastic.
" Thanks 'Lexia," He said, kissing me as the guys groaned.
We were currently in Josh's living room, sharing jumbo bags of chocolate we'd bought and throwing wrappers everywhere and tweeting about how wild and hardcore our Valentine's Day was.
Josh was going to upload a cover to our YouTube channel today and he kept trying to get me to sing with him. I finally gave in, hoping that if I sucked, Phillip could fix it with his beautiful editing skills.
As we got ready and Phillip started recording, the notes of Thinking Out Loud by Ed Sheeran filled the house. I looked at Josh, who smiled at me before singing.
Carter motioned for me join in. I leaned into the microphone and sang with Josh as he kept his eyes on mine. I forgot that there were other people in the room (one of them wearing a One Direction hoodie and having an emotional breakdown) and everything felt natural and kind of fun. Maybe singing wasn't such a bad idea.
In the middle of the song, Josh took my hand and kissed my knuckle before Carter started hitting Phillip, on the verge of having a seizure. I tried so hard not to laugh and fall off of my stool.
When the song was over, the guys started clapping, Carter being the loudest.
" You liar! You said you couldn't sing," He shouted.
There was a knock on the door and we looked at Josh, wondering if his parents home from work early.
" Um... I'm not expecting anyone," He said, getting up to answer. Phillip went with him.
While they were making their way down the stairs, we ate more chocolate and Aidan uploaded the cover.
" Maybe you should sing more. You're not that bad," He said.
" Thanks," I said, rolling my eyes.
Josh started screaming at the door before he burst into tears.
We all looked at each other, knowing who it was and debating on going out there or giving them time alone.
Deborah was home. The 13 year old girl that Josh loved so much was home. On Valentine's Day.
" Oh my gosh can today get any better?" Carter asked, wiping real tears out of his eyes as we heard a younger girl's cry. Truth be told, just hearing them reunite was emotional. I wondered how Phillip was handling it down there.
" Thank you for bringing her," We heard Josh say.
" Let's go see his sister," Carter begged.
" Aidan?" I asked.
He nodded, stuffing one last chocolate bar into his mouth before we went downstairs.
" Josh! Stop," We heard Phillip yell.
I ran faster, just in time to see why Phillip was so angry. Drea wasn't alone. There was a red-head beside her who was kissing Josh.
