Against what felt like overwhelming odds, Iodireth saw that solid object appeared to hurt the ghost and used the daggar again to swipe at the ghost as it (she?) reached for her again. The specter flinched and slowed, though it was clear to Iodireth that little damage had been done.

When the specter swiped at her again, Idoireth backed away quickly. She almost cleared the reach of the translucent arm. Steeling herself for the inevitable hit and pass though seemed to help somewhat, but It was clear that the ghost would win this outright fight unless Iodireth did something drastic, or fled.

Idorieth had never fought or even seen anything like this before. Despite her fear, the relatively few options before her gave a a stress-induced sense of clarity. Rolling behind another sarcophagous, she forced the ghost to pass through it while searchign for the padlock she had thrown earlier. The lock remained illusive, but the specter slowed and stugged through the stone. Her movements no longer had the supernatural speed that once had, perhaps she was weakening?

"What do you want!?" She yelled at the specter. The ghosts lips moved and her teeth barred. Iodireth couldn't make out any words other than her own echo before it lunged again. Fortunately, her claw like hand passed close, but missed Iodireth's now sweat coverd chest. Lunging forward she was able to take another swipe with her daggar. She felt the knife pull against flesh that seemed insubtantial, the ghost slowed, and an agonized expression coming upon her emaciated face.

Another stab appeared to further weaken the ghost, and Iodireth was fortunate enough to dodge the the ghosts outstretched arm. This stab-and-dodge continued and her luck continued while the specter was rendered weaker still.

When the battle seemed close to a conclusion, Iodireth lunged forward and swiped across the face of the specter. With a weak spark of gray and a rustling sound like those of dry leaves the specter dematerialized.

Her breath coming in ragged gulps, Iodireth sank of her hands and knees for a few minutes. The weight of the sitation she'd stumbled into was almost unbearable, but she was out of danger for now. With a final deep breath that almost calmed her nerver, she got back up and did her best to peer around the empty, darkened chamber.
