Nico's POV:
It was another one of those slow days. I opened my eyes, seeing it was still dark outside, and wondered why I was hearing birds in the middle of the night. When I rolled over to look at the time I almost fell off my bed when I saw that it was already 6 am.
After a few minutes of just laying on the cold, hard floor I decided to get up and get ready for school. I just put on the same thing as always, a black shirt with a skull on it and black jeans. Ever since I was a kid I thought it helped me blend into the shadow, minus the fact that when I actually stood in the shadows people didn't seem to be able to see me.
When I arrived at school, I couldn't help but see that my friend was getting picked on again. Will always got bullied because he was gay, I don't see a problem with that but apparently, they do. I decided to step in because they were starting to get violent towards him. He thanked me quickly and walked off before I could say anything.
During lunch, I saw that Will was being picked on again and I decided that that was the last straw. I walked over to the guys that were picking on him and told them off. One of them decided to pick me up by my shirt collar.
"Put me down before you regret it," I growled through my teeth.
"What if I don't wanna, hm?"
"Then you'll regret ever picking me up," I told him trying to summon up some kind of powers to get him to stop.
Something did happen, but I honestly didn't expect it in the slightest bit. The ground had opened under him and swallowed him, when I looked to where Will was standing, I saw that the other bullies were also gone, and Will was standing on a pillar-like thing that was surrounded by darkness. I looked up and saw that everyone outside was staring at me in terror. When I stepped back everyone farted away, thinking that I was going to do something to them too. I looked down in terror thinking that I was a monster for making that happen.
