Chapter 24 || Not Human

We ran , and tried to avoid the guards that were chasing us, I knew they were coming for her, I over heard them on my walk around my territory,

The wind blew past my face, And I let my feet guide me along, I was avoiding going back to pack grounds, the absolute last thing i needed was for them to find out about my kind,

I ran until I reached a clearing in the forest, i stopped and leaned against a tree, I  closed my eyes unable to hear the guards anymore,

"We did it, we out ran them", I smiled to my self as I said that, I expected to be bombarded with questions by Catrina ,but instead was met with silence,

I opened my eyes,but there was no one

"Catrina?", i call out,

Thats when I realized.... we had separated, somewhere as we were running,

I quickly turn back on my feet and retake my steps, also using my sense of smell to track her location, each step I toke towards her direction, the scent got more intense,then I stoped, not only could I smell her scent but also the guards,

The guards went after her,

my heart beat quickened,

I decided to shift into my wolf, that way I could reach her faster and also protect her better against danger,

I quickly toke off my cloths and got on my knees and let the change take over me,

Sound of bones cracking filled the night air,
And soon my hands turned to paws and hit the ground, I shake the dust off my grey fur, grabbed my cloths in my mouth, and continued on following her scent,

Now in my wolf form I could track her scent better then before, other senses too became heightened,

My head was bent down on the ground to make it easier to follow her scent,

I reached a set of bushes, where her scent was mixed with the scents of many different guards, and also....

Blood?

I look up the bushes infront of me and see,

Blood...

Blood running down her neck and mouth, her eyes were wide in horror,

My hole body froze, my heart stopped, the cloths in my mouth dropped to the floor and got stained with mud,

Her body dropped to the ground,the blood pooled at around her head,

My eyes went to the man that was standing behind her;

With the knife, it had her blood on it,

It's him,

He did it,

I AM GOING TO KILL HIM!

A growl escaped my mouth,
