Heidi's P.O.V.
He looked down at his chest, shock covered his face.
"I'm fine, I'm fine." I said, knowing I wasn't.
"Fine? Heidi you just coughed up blood! You're not "fine"!" It actually looked as if he was ready to throw things. He didn't do anything wrong but try to help me.
"It could just be something leftover that I'm coughing up."
"No, Heidi. Everything heals. All traces, all evidence of you ever being hurt are wiped clean. There would be no blood." He walked over, and began to heal me again. A bright pink light came over my chest, and I began to scream.
"ALEXANDER STOP IT! YOU'RE HURTING ME!" He stopped, and I looked at him. He looked stressed out.
"Alexander, listen to me. If it gets worse, I'll tell you. I'm fine right now."
It was almost like someone heard what I had said, because not even two seconds after I said that I began to cough and I couldn't stop. Blood started to wash through my throat, I couldn't catch my breath in time before It happened again. He began to pound his fist on the wall.
"I KNEW THIS WOULD HAPPEN! I KNEW IT!" He screamed. I couldn’t comprehend him anymore. It seemed like he was talking in another language, and then my eyes rolled back in my head. I tried to regain my eye sight, but I began to shake. Alexander rushed over to me.
"HEIDI, PLEASE STAY WITH ME. YOU'RE HAVING A SEIZURE, PLEASE STAY WITH ME!" He held me while it passed and I slowly stopped shaking. I fell into a deep sleep, dreaming of what my life could have been.
Tabitha's P.O.V.
The red stain was rapidly growing on my shirt. I didn't know where I had been hit but I looked over at Anna frightened. I felt so numb, but I kept running.I didn't want to die. I wanted to live.
I looked back to see the woman had stopped running. She looked worn out, but she was aiming the gun right at us. When I heard the bullet go off I grabbed Anna and veered left off and out of her sight. I felt the bullet buzz right past the back of my head while I was turning. I felt my heart rate pick up, realizing that one bullet could have just ended my life. That one bullet could have ended everything.
I couldn't stop running. It was like my legs were on a treadmill. You know how you get on one of those things and you CAN'T STOP WALKING, or you'll fall off. I was determined to get as far away as possible. My vision was beginning to blur and I stopped to catch my breath gasping for air.
“Anna, Anna I’ve got to stop. I need to catch my breath.” I ducked behind a tree and leaned over catching my breath.
“Tabitha we have to go. She’s not far I know it.” I’d have to run until I collapsed. My legs were already numb, I figured it would be any time. I looked over at Anna, seeing that she was tired too.
I didn't even want to look down at my shirt, I didn't want to know where I had gotten shot.
"Where... are... we.., Anna?" I asked her after every breath. She looked around.
"I'm not sure.. I've never been in these woods before." I felt so hopeless. I knew we were going to end up dead if we didn't keep moving.
I looked up in the sky, and seen a sunset burning orange and yellow in the distance. I looked around me again, searching for an open that was non-existent.
I started talking to Anna again as we slowed to a walk. She was looking down at my shirt. It looked like the blood was still fresh, and I could feel my shirt sticking to my skin. I figured maybe it hadn’t bled out anymore, and it wasn’t so bad.
Anna turned her head to the right and let out a big goofy grin.
"TABITHA LOOK!" I looked the way she was looking, and saw a small opening, a street glistened through the trees. I had never felt so happy. I began to run and felt my feet hit soft dirt and realized there was a trail. I ran to the opening, and out onto the street. Looking around I recognized nothing, feeling defenseless.
"I KNOW WHERE I AM!" Anna screamed a whisper to me.
"I don't." I said, sadly.
"We're right by Tuniper Street."
"Wait... That's not far from my house! We've been by my house this whole time!" We started to sprint.
"If you can get me to Tuniper Street, I can make it to my house." She started to run towards the end of the street, taking another right. In front of us was a long twisty road.
"At the end of this street to the left is Tuniper."
~~~
It seemed like forever to get to the end of Slinret Road, but when we got there I turned left towards Tuniper. We stopped running to catch our breath but I realized that my adrenaline had just kicked in and I started to run again, Anna next to me.
I turned onto my street, and in front of my house were three cop cars. I started to run faster, my side was aching. I reached my house, and ran through the door. I collapsed before I got the chance to talk. I couldn't catch my breath. I heard a cop scream
"GET AN AMBULANCE HERE NOW, THIS GIRL ISN'T GOING TO MAKE IT!" I heard my mom’s familiar voice when she sounded like she was about to cry.
“M-m-mo-mom?” I felt my lips mouth the word. Was I hallucinating? I heard her began to talk into the phone as the three police officers, I assume, were lifting me to the couch.
"Please get here now my daughter has been shot!"
