Yeosang watched the window anxiously. Yunho still hadn't returned. He was worried, scared even, of what might have happened to him. Of course, Seonghwa was the reason Yunho was even on Earth and Yeosang was well aware that they were just about equals, but after two battles in a row of being weakened and unprepared - he was afraid his hyung might be too weak to fight properly.
The clock was ticking and evening was drawing nearer. Soon this hellish experience would be over and they would all be able to rest easy once again. Until then, however, it was Yeosang's job to keep the house and everyone in it safe. The corpses of Mingi's dead neighbours rested just outside the front door and Yeosang quickly boarded every entrance and exit so that they wouldn't end up like them as well as to spare his hyung from the disturbing sight.
Wooyoung kept himself distracted by constantly pacing up and down the rooms of the house but it did him little to no good. Both humans had heavy bags under their eyes as if they had been up for weeks, it was obvious they would collapse soon from whatever stress or inner turmoil they were experiencing. Mingi especially refused to enter the living room, keeping himself locked to the kitchen counter, leaning against it drealily as his eyes flinched open every time they threatened to close.
No matter how hard Yeosang tried to get him to rest, the brunette still refused. As such, he eventually sighed in defeat, taking to checking on Wooyoung. Something he really wished he didn't have to do. "What time is it?" Asked the blonde, his legs still wobbling around the room, just barely managing to carry him at this point.
Yeosang looked up at the clock and nonchalantly responded: "Six pm."
"Be specific," Wooyoung grumbled.
The angel's wings flared irritably. "You could always read it yourself you-" Yeosang stopped himself, his eyes going wide at where the short-hand eventually stopped. "It's...Six...Six...S-Six..."
Wooyoung went silent. "You forgot the pm."
"I will stuff you in a box and ship you to Australia if you don't shut the fuck up!" Yeosang's breath hitched. 6:66 PM. It was that time of day. An odd rumble rippled through the house emitting from a few rooms down. The angel whipped his head in its direction, suddenly remembering there was one demon they had forgotten.
"What's going on?!" Wooyoung exclaimed. He and Mingi fell to the ground, but Yeosang sped over to each of them before they could reach the floor. He glared at an oncoming shadow and ran towards the door. With one kick it went flying and Yeosang threw the two humans down.
He paid them little mind while they both groaned in pain. His weapon was summoned within seconds when the roof of the house suddenly exploded upwards, far out of sight. So much for keeping the house safe.
This is it. This is my job. To kill that monster before it destroys the city.
Yeosang got himself ready. With his sword pointed towards the door, a bead of sweat ran down his cheek as he awaited his target. Yet what he had forgotten was who his target was. His breath hitched at what he saw. With dark yellow horns and glowing eyes to match, Jongho trudged out of the falling house, huffing and growling at everything around him, his teeth bared in fury.
"J-Jongho?"
The demon merely hissed. His eyes went right through him as if he were looking at a complete stranger or more likely - a target. One wrong move and Yeosang knew he could rip him in half. What was he supposed to do? He couldn't attack him. He just couldn't. Maybe he could try Yunho's method. "Jongho...let's talk about-"
The demon's foot slammed against the ground, an earthquake knocking everyone down. Yeosang just barely dodged when Jongho came flying towards him. He growled deeply. "Right, negotiation is for chumps."
