Sinner

I wake up with a throbbing head. My hand touches my forehead and my fingers find blood. Ah, this must be Chairman Lee's doing. That bastard indeed has no limits, and for stepping on his toes I am paying the price. Better even, I'm receiving a punishment for punching his son. In the face. Repeatedly. I only saw red, and my emotions burst out all at once. My efforts and hard work were supposed to pay off, but they only granted me second place. Apparently, the first place is granted to those with money and power.

I look around the poorly lit room, and see nothing but grey walls, a sink and an old mattress. So I'm trapped in here, with no way out and no one else around. I try standing up, but the dizziness hit me like a brick. Last night, after bottles and bottles of soju, I recall being followed by a suspicious van on my way home. And then –

A loud noise surprises me. The screech of scraping metal makes me cringe, and it shows no sign of stopping.

The room becomes dark as the minutes tick, and in no time, I see nothing but pitch black.

And without the light my thoughts lunge at me like predators, hungry for the suffering, shredding any hope with their claws. They wish for my tears, the desire my broken heart. They become faster, stronger, and I can't stop them. I let them tear me apart.

The walls close in.

I'm swallowed again.
