TRAPPED

Trrrrrrkkkkkkrrrrkkk", the sound of my stupid alarm woke me up. Waking up in the Morning is so stressful. I mean I am really grateful to be alive but can't a robot just know what I want to do and just do it and u will be able to just relax. I looked at the alarm and it read "7:45am". Great! now my
mum would be up and would have finished my favourite cereal. I hope today gets better. But on the bright side, its summer that means NO SCHOOL.

"Annnnnnnnne! Annnnnnne! come down this second"my mum shouted sounding gloomy. Jumping of my bed I yanked the door open and ran down the stairs. On my way to the kitchen,I saw my mum sitting by the island and she looks like she just got off the phone and the conversation was not pretty.

"It is time" she said while taking a sip of her green tea, yuuuuk.

"Time for me to be ungrounded prehaps" I said hopefully putting an innocent smile on my face trying my hardest  to create the perfect puppy dog eyes that can make her cave.

So get this,my mum went out of town for the weekend,and as the only child I was kept in charge of the house. An seventeen year old girl alone in this beautiful house with no one to talk to, that was really though on me.So I to it upon my self to have a party. I know crazy right but I got it under control until I heard a crash in the living room. Squeezing through the crowd I saw my mum's grandmother's vase on the ground. Oh man I am so in dip sh!t I thought. To say she was pissed is an understatement and she had me locked up.

"Not on your sweet life"she smiled at me."Your father is coming over and he is taking you to California"she said somewhat cheerily.

"Really,like when is he going to be here? And why do you look so happy,I will be leaving you alone?"I pouted.

"Oh! I don't know .... maybe having some peace and quiet in the house will finally be nice" mum said and laughed. "You should have seen your face" she said and got up to hug me.

"Oh ha!ha! really funny" I said rolling my eyes. "So when will dad be around?"

"He should be here in two hours"

"Okkk, so I have to pack for summer " I said and her face darkened.

"Mum, what's wrong"

"Nothing, just go pack and you will be living immediately he gets here".

As I went up the stairs I thought I heard sobs but I could be wrong. I am so excited it's been long I have seen my dad.

My parents actually have been divorced for 10 years now and it was tough initially because my mum had no job and sold most  of our things to support us. Later on, my mum finds out her parents left a lot of money for her when they passed away. She bought a house and enrolled me in a private school for a better future.

By the time I was done packing, I decided to call a friend of mine. I will miss her even if we are not that close.I dial her number and she answers on the first ring.

"Hi Tessa how are you doing ?"

I was about to answer before she kept talking.
"So, I was thinking maybe tommorow we could go shopping for new bikinis for Vanessa's party and everyone is going to be there especially Max." I could feel her smile .

At the mention of Max, I just zoned out. Max is a very timid guy but no one can deny that he is really cute. From his beanie to his black and white sneakers he is one fine piece of meat.

"Annnnne, are you even listening ?"Tess yelled over the phone.

"No,sorry look I have to tell you something" I said slowly.

"What's wrong Anne?"
"I will not be around during the summer  because I am visiting my dad in California."I said as I released the breath I was holding.

"Oh! Why so sudden though? " Tessa said.

"My dad was around for a business trip and he thought it will be a good idea for some bonding time".

"Guess that is nice, now there is no one to throw impromptu parties"she giggled.

"Please do not go there I am still grounded from the last one" I smiled.

"Yeah, I will miss you " she said and her voice was scratchy.

Before I could respond, someone knocks on my door. "Honey, your dad is outside hurry up and meet us downstairs"mum said.

"I guess you have to go now"Tessa croaked over the phone.

"Yeah"i said as I held my phone between my ear and left shoulder and used my right hand to open the door and started going down the stairs.

"Well have a good flight and call me when you land alright".

"Yess maam" I giggled a little.

"Love you b and have a safe journey".

"Love you too".

I looked at the house for the last time and stepped out the front door and saw my mum and dad in a heated conversation.

"She can't know now not yet anyway" my mum whisper yelled.

"Who can't know what?"I asked with furrowed eyebrows.

They both turned to me as if they've both seen a ghost.

Ok I think it got a little bit chilly outside.

"Nothing to worry about A, are you ready "dad asked and walked up to me and gave my shoulder a squeeze.

Putting my suitcase in the car, I pulled my mum in for a bear hug and whispered in her ear to take care and if she needed anything she should call me. Pulling back I entered the cab and stuck my head out and waved goodbye.

Time to make good memories I hope.
