I quickly slipped away and out of the ballroom, and to the garden, following my nemesis. It was difficult finding him due to the fact it was a masquerade ball, I couldn't lose him now.
I chase after him where I found him waiting for me in the center of the maze. I unsheathed the dagger from under my gown as he gave me a smirk, "Oh my, oh my, where is your dignity? Have you no sense of shame?"
I charged at him, dagger at hand, "Whatever do you mean?"
"It appears that I must take responsibility for you, for I have seen your legs and you are unwed," He grinned, dodging my swing and sending a blade towards my face.
I jump away, "I permit you to take responsibility for me," I clash my dagger with his. "By dying."
"Not until after you, M'lady," he said with what seemed to be an innocent smile. "Now shall we dance?"
Our blades reflected under the bright moon which radiated light that allowed us to see in the garden maze. Music from the castle's direction hummed alongside the sounds of our blades dancing.
A grin unconsciously creeps on my face as I notice he too, was smiling. Our blades waltz to the melodies from the ballroom that seemed to have no end.
In the midst of our battle, I lose balance, which nearly has me falling into a rose bush. I brace myself for the painful fall but I feel my enemy's hand gripping itself around my waist.
We remained in that position for a short while before he slyly smirked, "Now, now, can't have you falling for me just yet, can we, my dear?"
