🖤 22

**Nompumelelo**

We slept late yesterday talking and sharing life lessons with my sister. She maybe 22 years but she’s wise. That Lefa idiot forced her to grow up.

We woke up and prepared breakfast for everyone before we all go to church it’s been such a long time.

The service was great and now we home eating lunch today. My phone is still off and it will remain off till I go back to my house.

“Nompumelelo why is your phone off… your mother in law is looking for you.” My mom says before she takes her sit. Bafunani vele.

“My battery is low mama I will call her later.” I lie and Nomusa chuckles.

“Hhai call her now Nompumelelo she said its urgent.”

“Cha mama angithi they didn’t even tell me about Umsebenzi loba wenze izolo.” My dad looks at me and I continue eating my delicious food.

“What do you mean bayenze Umsebenzi… why didn’t they tell you.”

“Mama please lets just leave it.” I tell her.

“Hhai we can’t leave it Nompumelelo…what they did is wrong.”

“MaNkosi bayeke if they didn’t tell her then they have their reasons.”

“Hhai Baba what if they come here and take uLwandle.” I panic.

“I wont let them take my son away from me Mama…never!.” I say and walk away.

**Mbali**

There’s a knock on the door and I ignore it. My landlord has been on my case since Friday and I don’t have the money to pay him. Mmelokuhle was paying most of my Bill’s without me even asking him to do so and now since he broke up with me its difficult. I have never asked guys for money before. But my situation has left me with no choice than to beg Vusi for it even if it means me threatening him. I dial his number.

“Eish Mbali what do you want.” He says that as soon as he answers his phone.

“Nothing just checking if maybe you would like to come over.”

“Not today…I will call you.” He says and hangs up.

Yeses this man. I dial Mmelokuhle's international number but it doesn’t go through so I call him on his SA number and some girl answers his phone and I’m relieved when it’s not that woman he is seeing now.

“Hello can you please hold on for a second.” She says and I hear her moving more like running.

My prince there’s someone on the line for you. What??? Prince why is she calling him a prince. I hear Mmeli taking the phone from her.

“Mbali what’s up.” He doesn’t sound excited.

“Hey I was checking up on you. Mmelokuhle I’m really sorry.” I cry.

“It’s okay. It’s sorted now.” He says.
“Where are you. Are you back.”

“Look Mbali I have to go…take care of yourself.”

“I love you Mmeli.” I blurt out and I hear him sigh.

“Take care.” He hangs up. And I cry he has definitely moved on from us.

I have no one right now. When I started dating Mmeli I mistreated my family because I thought I was better than them. What do I do now because he left me for another woman.
