Chapter 58

(A/N: Hello again, everybody, I hope as I always do, that you're all doing well! This week I've been working a little bit on my stories, not so much the writing side things, but editing, I've been proof publishing some of them, so I've been able to hold them in my hands as actual books, which has been so cool, and weird, I've actually reordered proof copies of TPS and 9YL, one because I've made some small changes, and also because my mum took my copy of TPS the other day once I told her about the book and showed them to her, her jaw literally dropped when I told her that TPS currently on here has 123k reads.. she said she wants to read them, which is just weird but nice, I've never let any of my family (or friends) read my stories before.. but I'm excited to get another few copies of 9YL and another of TPS, and I've also edited and ordered a couple of copies of my Married By Accident story too, so they should all arrive to me by the end of next week, which is pretty exciting! On to another note, this story is certainly coming to an end, after this chapter, there will only be two more chapters.. I am undecided on whether to carry this story on and make it a trilogy, it has certainly been one of my more successful stories, I think.. but then there are also my other stories that I have been sort of working on, the ideas are there and I've been making notes, but they've not really been getting written due to my focus being on this one, so I don't know, it may well be that due to that I do have a few potential ideas for a 3rd story, perhaps I'll revisit it at some point.. I'm not sure yet, what do you guys think? Anyway, I'll leave you all to read the chapter as the last one did finish on a cliffhanger. Let me know what you think of it, I haven't been getting any comments on the chapters lately, I'm starting to question things a little *anxious*. Anyway, be happy, stay safe. Laters :P)

Adopt? Did Stefan just suggest that.. we adopt Dexter? He did.

"Adopt him? Are you out of your mind?" I question, stunned by his suggestion. We are in no position to be adopting a child at the moment. We're not ready to adopt a child yet.

"What do you mean am I out of my mind?" He asks frowning at me, appearing to not see anything wrong with what he's just suggested.

"Stefan, we've just had a baby ourselves a few months ago, she needs us to take care of her" I remind him.

"Yeah, I know that, but if you think about it, if or when we have another child, our care for Scarlett won't stop there, we'll be taking care of two kids" He points out. I sigh in disbelief at his logic. "Look, I know it is out of the blue and random, but Dexter already doesn't want you to leave him, it's like he's bonded with you, and he has nobody else so will end up in care anyway, so as the first people in his life since his parents tragic deaths, I honestly think we could do it" He explains. He's dead serious about this. We have a 3 month old who is needy anyway, having us up during the night, depending on what kind of night she's having.

"You do? Because that boy is going through a lot right now, he's had a very traumatic day and is probably going to start having terrible nightmares about losing his parents, are you actually wanting to deal with that, on top of having a 3 month old?" I question.

"Love, we're already parenting Scarlett throughout the night, some nights, so if Dexter needs us for anything, nightmares or whatever during the night, it's not like we're not used to being awake" He answers. I sigh again as I look over at Dexter watching us both talking, making sure we remain in sight. He is an adorable little boy, and he's got nobody else. And as Stefan has said, he's already got some kind of bond with me, I'm not sure he'll be happy with being anywhere without me for the time being, and I can't deny that feeling of awe because of that. There's a connection, there's definitely no denying that.

"Ok, fine, we'll adopt him, or at least try to, you're right, there is a connection between us, and I can't deny that, or push him away from us when he's so comfortable with us" I say. Stefan smiles.
