"Happy birthday!"

The brunette smiled brightly at the warm hug her friends pulled her in.

Hinata, Sakura, Tenten and Ino were currently in front of Shiemi's house, all of them with a present in their hands.

"Girls...thank you so much!"

She had received their happy birthday texts at midnight, along with the boys' ones, except for one particular person.

"Here, these are our presents!" Hinata said, handing her a shopping bag filled with differents packages inside.

"You didn't have to...that's so sweet, thanks." she muttered while pulling them for another hug.

"Now let's go. Can't arrive late to Kakashi sensei class right?"

"You're right Ino. Let's go!"

From where she was standing, Shiemi could distinguish Sasuke's figure among the others. His back faced her and an idea popped in her mind.

She turned to face Sakura and handed her the bag with their presents in it. "Could you please hold this for me? Gotta do something real quick!"

Sakura nodded and took the bag from her, watching the brunette run toward her boyfriend.

Shiemi hopped on his back, making the ravenette stumble back a little. Quickly, he wrapped his arm around her legs to secure the girl on his back.

"Sasuuu!"

Sasuke smiled gently as he squeezed her thighs. "Babe. You missed me that much?"

"Not really. But did you miss me?" she smirked.

"A lot yeah. Why?" he smirked back.

"Can the two lovebirds please get a room? I'm not tryna witness what I saw one year ago." Naruto interrupted, an irritated look on his face.

Shiemi chuckled and extended one arm to pat Naruto's shoulder. "Sorry sunshine boy. Anyways, are you guys doing great or what?"

"Yup!"

"Yes sir."

"Sleepy but I'm good I guess."

"What about you Shiemi?"

She nodded with a large smile. "I'm feeling amazing! Buuut is that it? Aren't you forgetting something?"

They all looked at each other, and lifted their presents with big grins. "Happy birthday Shiemi!" they all shouted.

"Thank youuu! But you guys even got me presents?! You didn't have to, that's too nice of you." she pouted.

"Nonsense! But Sasuke, why aren't you giving Shiemi her present? You didn't even wish her a happy birthday!"

Shiemi felt Sasuke tense up and frowned. "Babe?"

Don't tell me that he...

The Uchiha sighed and put down Shiemi with an apologetic look. "I'm sorry. I was so busy that I just...I completely forgot about your birthday. I'm so sorry Shiemi.."

Gasps could be heard as soon as the words left his mouth.

Shiemi kept silent for a few seconds before closing her eyes in a smile. "Hehe...It's okay Sasuke. It's not that important anyway so don't worry okay? I'll head to class. See you there."

Before Sasuke or anyone else could say something, Shiemi was already out of sight.

"Oh man I feel so guilty!" Naruto shouted.

"I hope that you know that she will most probably ignore you now." Sakura added.

The girls arrived shortly to were the boys were and heard the whole small drama.

"Shut it already. I know it hurt her but my surprise will make it up for it. So just play along and follow the plan."

The pinkette sighed and turned to walk toward their class. "As you say, captain."

"Are you truly okay?"

The brunette nodded lazily. Naruto sighed and wrote down the few sentences Orochimaru was saying.

"Huh not so sure. You asked to sit with me at every period instead of sitting beside Sasuke like usual."

Shiemi sighed and stared at him. "Okay. I'm kinda hurt he forgot about my birthday alright? I know that's a stupid reason to be mad but-"

"Hey that's not stupid! You should have slapped him right there on his face!"

The Mikazuki chuckled at his words. "Yeah. Maybe I should have."

"Uzumaki and Mikazuki. Mind sharing what's so funny to your classmates?"

"No sir." they both replied in unison.

Soon enough, the bell rang meaning the end of the fourth period.

"It's lunch time!" Naruto cheered.

Sasuke walked toward the two and placed an arm around Shiemi's waist. "Let's go babe. I heard they had your favorite toda-"

"Sorry but I already planned on eating my mom's special bento with the girls so.." she said as she pursed her lips together.

For a split second, Shiemi could have sworn she saw a hint of hurt on Sasuke's face.

"I mean if you deigned send her a text you probably would have known." Tenten scoffed.

Sasuke sighed before pecking Shiemi's forehead. "I know...Well then, eat well. I'll see you in class."

"Girls...I'm hurt but can I really stay mad at him?"

Shiemi was sitting on a bench in the school yard, Tenten, Ino, Hinata and Sakura around her.

Her friends looked at each other with a knowing look.

"Stay mad until he gives you a real reason to not be mad anymore!" Tenten commented.

Hinata shook her head and smiled gently. "I don't think that's a good idea...Shiemi should just tell him that she's hurt and Sasuke will probably find a way to make it up for it."

Ino sighed and grabbed her shoulder with a stern look. "Shiemi. What's the point in sulking anyway? You should enjoy your day and simply ignore this dumbass!"

"I guess you're right. I should not be having a gloomy face on my birthday!"

Sakura pumped a fist in the air. "That's the spirit, shannaro!"
