Walking into the school around five gave the three enough time to get their things unpacked before walking down to the food hall, it also gave Aiden enough time to visit the garden; sighing as the nice cold crisp air hits his cheeks, Aiden starts quickly walking towards the garden. He makes a quick stop in the green house before stepping out into the low light caused by the soft sky lights, his steps fall short however as his eyes lay on a certain tall brunette. Brett stands before the small pond surrounded by soft baby blue forget-me nots, a soft grimace of his face as he stares into the water as if trying to figure out a question. Aiden stares, his heart felt as if it stopped mid beat at the sight of this tall god like figure; Brett wore denim jeans with the knees near gone, a white t-shirt that hugged his broad muscular shoulders and chest well, then lastly a nice winter trench coat that he kept his hands in. Gawking at the sight, Aiden nearly fails to hide just in time before Brett's eyes caught him; his brain was filled with many thoughts, why was Brett here, why did he look so good, and-is it finally time to give him the roses.
John said not to though, but-but how will I ever make it up to him for messing up his shoes!?
Aiden silently fights with himself until he finally comes up with a solution: he was going to give him the flowers. Aiden quickly runs over to the large rose bush him and Scott had been growing since last spring, he was very proud of the plant for it was big and healthy, which is why he wasn't afraid to take some flowers off. With each cut, he felt more and more embarrassed as he knew it meant he finally had committed into giving the leader of the 3 Musketeers roses, roses for christ sake! With five roses in his hand, Aiden finally thought that was enough and started walking towards the door that lead outside. Nerves bubbled in his stomach as he drew closer and closer to the door, when his hand turned the knob, he felt all the nerves surface to the top.
Brett looked up at the sound of the door and his brows knitted together in surprise, which didn't help with Aiden's nerves. He took in a deep breathe and Aiden walked around the small pond, stopping inches away from Brett, his arms out straight holding the flowers.
"T-these are f-for you as an a-apolgy for the other d-day." Aiden held his eyes closed tightly, his face looking towards the ground.
Only a small cricket could be heard as the two stood there in silence, neither one moving. Aiden felt as if it was years before Brett finally spoke.
"You really got me flowers." Aiden could hear the surprise in Brett's voice.
"Y-yes, Taylor s-said they are y-your favorites." Aiden stutters, cursing his own self for sounding so weak.
"God damn Taylor- Look, I thought I fucking told you I didn't want any flowers." Brett hisses, his voice filled with venom.
"B-but how will I make it up to you?" Aiden looks up, his eyes begin to prick with tears.
"Forget it, okay, just fucking forget it. I have more pairs and I don't want you to buy me a pair of cheap shoes." Aiden flinches at his harsh words.
"O-oh..." Aiden's arms fall by his side and he looks down at the ground. "I-I'm sorry for bothering you then."
Aiden turns and feels a tear slip down his face as he drags his feet back towards the school.
"Hey-" Aiden flinches as he hears Brett's voice, he turns slowly to face the taller. "You're not even going to give me them?"
Aiden stares at the taller in confusion, his head tilted slightly as he tries to figure out what he means. In the eyes of the other, he looks like a little puppy that was trying to solve a puzzle.
"I-I thought you didn't want them."
"Just cause I said I didn't want them doesn't mean I don't want them now." He grabs the roses from out of his hands, quickly hissing and looking down at his hand. "Didn't you cut off the thorns?"
