"I'm afraid that if we give it a chance. Then something might happen and we don't have any choice but to end it. I'm afraid that what we have now might end also and I don't want that. It's better if we stay what we are in right now."
She said that and I can't understand what she said but all I can feel is sadness and I don't know why. Suddenly her beautiful face slowly faded. Then I feel like I was being shaken.
"Wah! Lindol!"
"Ahhhh!" Sigaw din nitong lalaki na nasa harapan ko gulat na gulat din yung reaction ng mukha niya.
"Nagulat niyo ko Doc ha!"

I was taken a back when I heard those announcement in this four corners of room. Hindi ako makagalaw. Tulog pala ako, at napanaghinipan ko na naman yun.
"Doc we need to go. That's why I'm here because of this reason, that's why I wake you up." Sabi ng intern ko. Agad akong napatayo dahil ngayon lang pumasok sa isip ko kung anong nangyayari. Tumatakbo kaming nagtungo sa VIP room kung saan ang code blue.
"Cardiac Arrest!" Sigaw ni Dave 1st year resident Doctor na under sa'kin.
"Doc?" Tanong sa'kin ni Kayla 3rd year resident na under din sa'kin
"Administer Atropine." Agad naman itong tinugon ni Nurse Sally. Ang Head Nurse ng Pediatric Department.
"Begin in chest massage." I started massaging the child chest (CPR).
"Check the vitals!"
Patuloy padin akong nag che-chest massage and when I look at the monitor and see the vitals I got scared. The vitals is not good.
"The heart rate is still dropping and also the blood pressure Doc." Nakatinging tugon sa'kin ni Kayla.
"Prepare the Defibrillator. Faster!"
Please... Please... Come back...
"Doc the Defibrillator is here." Kayla said while handed me the two objects that can bring back the heart beat. Hoping that it would work.
"Fifty joules!"
"Fifty joules!"
"Clear?"
"Shot!" sigaw ko ng nilapat ko na sa katawan ni Kate ang dalawang bagay na maaring magpabalik ng tibok ng puso niya.
"Check the heart rate if its coming back" I look back again in the monitor and it's still looks bad.
"Doc hindi parin po bumabalik." Anunsyo ni Dave.
"Okay. 100 joules!" Binigay ulit sa'kin ni Kayla ang Defibrillator.
"100 joules!"
"Clear?"
"Shot!"

Suddenly the sound of the monitor when someone loss his/her life like in the movie filled the four corners of this room.
I can't move, I can't breathe, and I don't know what to do.
Na bitawan ko yung hawak hawak kung Defibrillator at dahan dahan na pa atras at napayuko.
*FLASHBACK*
"Doc JB!"
Sinalubong agad ako ni Kate ng matatamis niyang ngiti, and I hug her tightly. Because I'm in a long vacation and I didn't see her for a long time. That's why I miss her so much.
"Hi baby. How are you? Did you take your meds?" We talk a lot of things including her dreams in life.
"Doc JB, when the time comes that I'm already okay and healthy. I want to be like you, I want to be a Doctor too. I want to treat sick kids." I smiled because I can see that she's happy.
"That's good. Just be strong and keep fighting okay? You'll be okay soon." I know and she knows that she doesn't have a lot of time.
*END OF FLASHBACK*
"Doc Diaz?" Tawag sa'kin ni Nurse Sally, and I know what she means. She wanted me to announce those words when someone leave this beautiful world, and I hate to speak those words. But as a Doctor and as a professional I should not let this emotion control me. Slowly lifting my arms to look at my watch to see the time and date.
"January 11, 2021 at 8:24 PM. Ki-kate e-expired."
After speaking those words I left the room with a heavy heart. I can't breathe, I feel like I was being choke.
I enter my room and after I closed it, my tears began to fall. I lost an angel again, and I hate this things when it happens. I hate it, pero di 'ko 'to maiiwasan because I'm just a Doctor.
I'm just a Doctor who heals sick people, I'm not God who's the owner of everything including our own life.
