They were all around me. Mum and Dad starring and and blindly crying in front of me. But everything still seemed really quite as if the world went quite. There was a white ceiling and white walls but that is all I could see out of my vision. All until I drifted off, thinking that it was just a dream, you know one of those weird ones that feel real but are actually just a figment of your imagination.
I drifted awake the same way I drifted asleep and couldn't sit up. I herd a truck beep from out side and I jumped out of bed because it was the first noise I had herd in what felt like weeks.
I got dressed and walked down stairs. No one was home. I went out. There wasn't my bothers to hide my keys, they were sitting on the table where I left them, in a messy but deserted mess.
Life wasn't normal. Where was my family? I started to walk, I had no idea where I was going though, all I knew was that I was going there. There were noises on this busy road the rumble of cars, an occasional beep and the mild chatter of people but nothing was there apart from empty buildings.I shot my head straight up to see there was a man that was walking with his head down and a hood that was covering his face.
People were there then, when I saw him, they were going at casual business not looking fazed at all.
A man bumped into the hooded mans shoulder between all the huddle of shifting people, he looked up and his saggy face turned to me and he started screaming, saying 'WAKE UP'. I stopped walking, he started to stare intently into my eyes as if he was reading about a murder, actually not reading, more like planning.
He started to walk violently towards me pushing various un-expecting people out of the way, including an old lady who fell onto other men who caught her. From then on people parted for him to come through and my feet felt stuck to the ground watching his saggy dirty checks bounce around, with his mouth screaming 'WAKE UP'.
I was stuck to the spot, leaning backwards to move I fell on my tail bone. At least I wasn't stuck anymore. I tried to stand up but I felt heavy, the man somehow appeared at least 20 meters back down the road and the people all disappeared, at least no cars were there. The man started to run towards me. I got up and I felt 5 times heavier I started to run, hardly being able to keep my balance, I tried to run straight. I was tired felt like I had ran a marathon.
So I finally got the guts to turn around. And behind me was nothing. So was I going to walk home? I turned back around, and there he was standing tall right I front of me. I saw a thin arm but still weirdly strong taking a swing towards me. I felt the impact of the blow to the head and I also felt the impact of the floor.
And the only thing I saw was the grip of his dark eyes staring down at me. And his lips speaking.
Waking to the sharp ringing alarm in my ears and a bright light shining into my eyes, there was a click, exactly three in each ear. Then things screwed back into focus I was still blinded by the light. I herd a person say 'her eye's reflexes are fine' and then herd my mother repeat it with I told you so voice and my dad saying 'thank god for that'.
Then the lights swung out of the way. I saw the a white ceiling again. The same women's voice said 'Sweetheart you have been in a coma for 1 month yesterday. Can you understand me?' Shocked I swung my eyes around at the people int the room and pulling a face. Which only made my head spin.
I looked around at the women and my mother clutching my dad with her hand over her mouth and dad just helplessly crying. I saw tubes going into my arms and a heart machine. "I guess that means you can hear me..." The lady dressed in white said.
I opened my mouth to say what happened but nothing. It was that feeling when you scream so load that nothing comes out. The lady looked disappointed but not in me, kinda almost in herself, she whispered "it's alright you don't have to... ahh talk". I wanted to but I couldn't it just didn't come out.
I kept thinking the white room was reality and the rest was not. From then on my reality was no voice.
But my real reality had no voice.
