Jerobim knelt in his office. It was finely appointed as a penthouse office should be. The large mahogany desk inlaid with leather was at the centre of the room. A computer monitor hummed quietly in one corner. The thick pile dark red carpet complemented the desk and was a stark contrast to the pale eggshell walls.

A huge glass cabinet stood in the far corner housing photos of famous people and various awards. Around the walls hung a number of abstract art pieces. A sculpture of a giant bronze angel was set near the entrance. The blinds were closed the only light came from the computer screen and a green orb that floated in mid-air.

Jerobim shifted slightly on his knees, the line of questioning from the orb was making him feel uncomfortable.

'Why did you not inform me of the rescue attempt?' the voice was controlled, but with an edge of manic.

'My lord Lucifer, I had no idea, it seems that Gabriel is now working independently of Lucian'

Lucifer screamed back

'And what sort of excuse is that!'

Jerobim cowered on the floor

'My apologies my lord, I'm trying to locate them. The last I heard was they were on Xaria'

Lucifer restrained himself, if they are still on Xaria then he could still perhaps re-gain his prize.

'Jerobim the Drakim must not rise again unless they are under my control.'

Up righting himself again Jerobim tried to keep it together.

'I understand my lord. I have more news of Lucian'

'I hope it is his location.'

Jerobim had never given Lucifer Lucian's location he had decided that should things take a turn for the worst, he could use that bit of information as a bargaining chip.

'Unfortunately I have still to track down Lucian. But I have heard on the grapevine that he has met with a demon named Reboaz.'

Jerobim heard Lucifer physically sink into his throne. He was waiting for a reply. He heard a faint muttering and someone scurry off.

'Thank you for your information, leave that with me.'

Lucifer's tone had changed completely. Jerobim decided not to push it. He wanted to know who Reboaz was and why the change in tone, but didn't want to risk another one of Lucifer's outburst, after all he didn't want to exclude himself from the promised power that Lucifer had offered.

'I will contact you if I have any more information for you and I will get right on locating the boy.'

'See that you do, my patience is wearing thin.'

The orb went dark. Jerobim got up and sat in his leather office chair. He clicked a button on his desk and the blinds retracted allowing the sun to stream into his office. He pressed the intercom.

'Heather, any calls'

The voice came back

'No sir, but there is a General Kyle here to see you.'

Jerobim let go of the button and mused for a moment

'I wonder what he wants' he thought.

He pressed the intercom again.

'Please show the General in' said Jerobim

'Yes sir' came the reply over the intercom.

Jerobim's secretary led the General into the office.
