THREE

•MEMPHIS•

It's currently 5 in the morning. I woke up about 30 minutes ago due to another nightmare. I didn't want to wake Michael since we have school in a few hours, so I just cried for a little bit and calmed myself with prayer.

This time the nightmare was about somebody trying to rape me. I have no idea why I always have these nightmares. But they need to go away. I slowly got up and walked to the kitchen. I began making coffee so that I won't be a complete zombie today.

After my coffee, I decided to take a shower. I'm so proud of myself I did a FULL shower. I washed my hair, bathed, shaved, and I even exfoliated. I deserve a cookie for that.

After my shower I laid in my bed in a towel, watching Rick and Morty. After I watch an episode of Rick and Morty I look at my phone to see it's 6:50. I got out of bed and went to my bathroom.

I dried my hair really fast with my drying brush, then I put on light makeup, which consisted of mascara and liquid blush, after my hair and makeup was done I brushed my teeth.

I threw on A black skirt that goes mid thigh, a cute white top, and my cowboy boots. After I was done getting ready I knocked on Michael's door. He was wearing boot cut jeans, cowboy boots, and a white Patagonia t-shirt.

"Ready," he asked. I nodded. "Hey I don't want you driving there by yourself since it's first day." Michael said as he grabbed two waters from the fridge. "It's not even a mile away." I announced. He shrugged, "Just ride with me today so you will remember the road better tomorrow."

I rolled my eyes but followed him to his truck. He opened the door for me and I got in. His truck was pretty nice. It's a light blue 2015 Chevy Silverado with a 1 foot lift. And he had purple LED lights under it.

We left right after he got in. It only took us 1 minute to get to school. He pulled into the very back parking lot and backed perfectly into a space. I rolled my eyes cause I can't do that.

"Ok Lizzy so I would say we just wait in here til class but we need to find our way around." Michael said as he turned off the truck. I nodded nervously. He came around and opened the door for me. He helped me out and I grabbed my backpack.

While walking to the school I think he could tell I'm nervous since I'm not talking. He put is arm around my shoulder to reassure me everything was ok. It took us forever to find the front office, but we managed.

We got our schedules and looked at them. "Look we have 4th period together. Oh and lunch is during that class so we have that together." He said with a smile. "Also 7th" I said. "We still have 20 minutes." Let's walk around the school and try to find our classes." He said as he gave me back my schedule.

We walked around the whole school at least twice just to make sure that we have everything remembered. "I'll walk you to first period."

I just nodded, still nervously. He walked me to my history class, "If you need anything, text me." He said after he hugged me. I nodded and walked into the classroom. "Hi, you must be the new student. I'm Ms Barry." The teacher said as she held out her hand. I shook her hand "Yes ma'am, it's nice to meet you. My name is Memphis."

"Oh my goodness your voice sounds way more country than the others." She said with a laugh. I reckon she's a yankee because she kinda has a yankee accent. "Stand in front of the class for me sweetie." She said. I nodded and laid my things down before going to the front.

"Ok students we have a new kid today. Please tell us your name, where you're from, and something interesting about yourself." I nodded and began, "My name is Memphis Taylor. I'm from Cullman, which is just about an hour north of here. And there's nothing interesting about me."

"I'm sure there's something, but you can sit down now." She said with a smile. The whole time I was up there I was so nervous. I thought I was going to puke. Which I'm very glad I didn't. That wouldn't be a good start to the first day.
