I was busy staring outside the window beside me while thinking of what happened yesterday. What he said really gave me a huge impact. It made my night sleepless, it made my heart flutter and brought smile on my lips.

But somehow, I realized that he might said that just because a spy is looking on us or there's a recording bug on our clothes.

Or worse, it might be a mere joke for him to see how would I react on that. If I'll feel any romantic excitement or what.

“Hey, Shane! Are you okay?” Chesska nudged me, I looked at her, surprised after noticing that I spaced out.

“Yeah, I am fine,” I answered with a small smile.

“Really? Kumopya ka na ng notes oh.”  I looked at the front, I saw our professor writing something on the whiteboard. I quickly took my notebook from my bag and also my favorite pen. Mukhang mahaba-haba ang susulatin ko dahil sa tagal kong nakatulala.

Why am I even thinking about what he had said yesterday?

Does he really have a crush on me? impossible. It’s Ate Marra, right? It has been Ate Marra from the beginning and perhaps, 'til the end. It will always be Ate Marra.

Look, I am not concealing the possibility to myself. But on the other hand, it was quite impossible, right?

“Do you understand our lecture for today, Ms. Cortez?” I was snapped back into the reality when our professor called my surname with a sarcastic smile.

“Y-Yes, Ma’am.” I answered. I never thought that dental history would be this hard for me right now.

“Who is the Father of Modern Dentistry and what year he was named as it?” I took a big gulp as I stood up, thinking about the correct answer.

C’mon, Shanel! Think!

I shut my eyes close. I tried to recall what I studied before.

“P-Pierre... Fauchard? In 1723?” I answered in asking tone.

"Are you sure?" she asked that made me nervous. I gulped the lump in my throat because I don't really know if I answered it correctly. “Good!” She pointed at the whiteboard. I flinched when the stick hit the whiteboard loudly. “It was written here, I wonder why you didn’t look at it or if you knew that I wrote it here.” She smirked and tapped the board loudly again, making me almost jump in shock. “Whoever you are thinking, don’t worry about him, he loves you too. So please, now isn't the right time to wool-gather about love.” My eyes widened at what she has said. I heard them laughed at me, I just nodded before sitting on my chair, I could feel their stares at me so I just swing my head low.

I continued copying the notes written there. I looked at my wrist watch and saw that it was a minute before three.

“Class dismiss, just erase the writings on the board.” Our professor smiled, walking out first.

My classmates put their bags on as they started leaving. I wandered my gaze around and saw one of my classmates holding our board eraser.

“Uh, ako na ang bahala sa board.” I smiled at her, I didn't know her name but she's familiar to me.

“Talaga, Shanel?” Her eyes gleamed, I nodded.

“Yup.” She carried her bag with a smile.

“Thank you, Shanel!” she then exited, sinundan ko naman siya ng tingin hanggang sa mapansin ko ang dahilan kung bakit hindi ako makapag-isip nang ayos kanina.
