I live in a world filled with beauty. The world has changed. We don't know how or why. All we know is one day people started exhibiting out of this world abilities, powers. Gifted is what they are called. There was once 75% naturally gifted people around the world. Powers were then sold on the black market in pill like subscription for anyone who wanted to become gifted it never worked.
Crime soon started to become rampant where victims were killed in unexplainable ways. The gifted were blamed. The government started gathering up anyone they could find because they did not understand them, because they were afraid of them and afraid of the effect they could have on this world, and soon slowly but surely everyone else would be afraid too. Fathers and mothers started turning on their gifted children, sending them to the government. The gifted were forced into hiding.
You can't trust anyone anymore not even people who are gifted themselves. Gifted people started turning on their own kind turning them in order to be free of suspicion and never suspected. It only got worse, the government put a bounty on the gifted community. Anyone who brought in a gifted individual would be paid. It turned into a bloodbath, and now I am not sure how much of the gifted are out there.
This used to be a beautiful world before fear and anger took over, before brother turning against brother, before community against community. I now live in the world shrouded with secrecy because of what I am and I didn't know it yet but soon for what I will become.
