Yoongi was up, and about by noon. The second eldest skipped breakfast, but not before checking to see if Namjoon had eaten. Only when Yoongi was about to head off to the studio, did he notice Hoseok’s sloppy, rushed handwriting.
Jin-Hyung and I took a walk. Be back soon.
Yoongi sighed, setting his bag down near the front door, and sitting down in the open living room. Jimin was up, watching television, and Namjoon was staring blankly at the sofa. Yoongi didn’t have to, but he felt it his responsibility to make sure the over-emotional members didn’t hurt themselves while the only level-headed people in the house were taking a walk.
“Namjoon-Hyung, lunch?” Jimin spoke up out of nowhere, almost startling the second-oldest.
Namjoon didn’t move, save for a small nod.
“Good, I’ll bring it in, okay?” Jimin patted Namjoon’s good shoulder as he retreated to the kitchen. “Yoongi-Hyung, bowl?”
“Yeah,” he replied, not even thinking about it.
Jeongguk followed Jin, and Hoseok back towards the dorms, lagging behind slightly. Wow, his leg really hurt. He didn’t want to bring attention to himself, so he stifled his groans, and tried not to limp. There was nothing physically wrong with his leg, because everytime he died, he awoke as though it’d never happened, so he didn’t understand why it was still bothering him.
Jeongguk didn’t want to, but he needed to stop. “H- Jin-Hyung, wait,” Jeongguk grunted out, sitting down near the bridge that he’d jumped off of.
“What’s wrong?” Hoseok. “Are you doing okay?”
Jeongguk winced as he massaged his thigh muscle. It was painful.
“Just m- my leg,” he cursed, hating himself for stuttering. He’d just jumped in front of a moving vehicle, why was only his leg hurting? “Anyway, Hyungs. What will the others think of me?”
“Taehyung’ll be upset,” Hoseok said immediately. “Namjoon’ll be in disbelief, and Yoongi, and Jimin? They’re faring the best right now.”
“They may not take it well,” Jin added. The eldest had a hand covering his mouth. “What do we do, Hoseok-ah?”
“I mean,” Hoseok’s forehead was creased. “He is Jeongguk, right? The one we raised since his mid-teens?”
“Hey, I’m right he-”
“The adults are talking,” Hoseok interrupted.
“Correction, the mortals are talking,” Jeongguk smarted. “If you guys keep arguing, I’ll still be twenty-two when you’re fifty.”
That earned Jeongguk a harsh glare, and the Maknae quickly apologized.
“Jeongguk, if you really plan on continuing your music career, you’ll have to rejoin a different company every couple of years.”
“No,” Jeongguk gazed up at his Hyungs. “No, because I’m gonna find a way to break this curse.”
“How?” Hoseok.
“Why would you want to?” Jin.
“I can’t let Namjoon-Hyung die alone,” Jeongguk revealed quietly. “I just can’t. He’s too hurt already, and that’s all my fault. I won’t let him die without me.”
“Sounds a little selfish,” Hoseok pursed his lips with his comment. “If I was you, I’d be taking advantage of this right now.”
“No, Hobi-Hyung,” Jeongguk blinked up at his Hyung. “That sounds selfish, what I said sounds like one of Taehyung-Hyung’s kdramas.”
“True,” Jin agreed. His Maknae just happened to say the most relatable things sometimes. “What’re we going to do with you?”
“What?”
“We can’t bring you back now,” Jin continued, Jeongguk obviously not getting the hint. “Everyone’s a wreck.”
“Hyungs,” Jeongguk grunted as he pushed himself up, standing, hands splayed flat across the railing of the bridge. “I have to go back now. It won’t be the same if I go back later.”
The only thing Jeongguk cared about was Namjoon, and he couldn’t help it. They were about to go official, before the crash, they’d been so close. Namjoon had had it all planned out, he’d tell the managers first, then the members, then the fans, in that specific order. It was more convenient for Namjoon to inform their staff first, seeing as sometimes, he spent more time in his studio than at home, even if the members felt a little hurt with his decision.
“Well,” Jin pursed his lips in thought, before speaking up again. “Let’s go, I guess.”
“Jin-Hyu-”
“No,” Jin shushed Hoseok with a finger to his lips. “Jeongguk-ah is right, it’ll be too different.”
“How are the others going to react to this, Jin?” Hoseok snapped, dropping the honorifics, speaking seriously. “Jeongguk-ah had to kill himself before we believed him, how will they?”
Jin shook his head at Hoseok. “They’ll understand-”
“But they won’t.”
“You’re stressing too much about this,” SeokJin took hold of Hoseok’s hand, pulling him in the direction of their dorms, Jeongguk limping close behind.
