-Circe's POV-

I always used to wonder what walking through the corridors of Hogwarts on my first day would feel like. Would it be daunting or fanciful, Im not sure how I feel right now but it doesn't feel entirely welcoming. Scanning the halls I find the source of this discomfort.

It's the students, they have expressions of grimace or distaste as we pass by whether they are in our year or above. Normal crowds part with awe and eagerness radiating off them but all I can see is resentment and unwelcomeness. Every student that isn't a part of our own house is scowling at us? Is this how bad Slytherin prejudice is?

I'm shocked. Nevertheless, I morph my face into an expressionless facade and lift my chin high enough to make Narcissa proud and straighten my posture.

I peek to my left to check on Draco but he seems to be doing just fine basking in the hateful gazes. He notices I'm staring and locks our arms together while looking straight forward.

Blaise however takes advantage of the situation and pulls a combination of winking and smirking at every girl his gaze lands on making me giggle, forgetting my perfect composure.

Blaise and his wit always know how to make me laugh even if he doesn't mean to. It's kind of amusing actually, you see that's how he caught my attention when he and I first met.

As we walked Draco seemed to pick up speed once I heard his first stomach growl of hunger of the year.

I personally had no idea where we were going but if I had to guess, most likely the Great Hall. My mouth started to drool as its smell of food started to get stronger.

"Mmmm pancakes *sniff*, bacon *sniff*, and a hint of sweet chile with a side of golden syrup!" Crabbe and Goyle thought out loud.

Their comment drew Blaise, Theo, and Draco to sniff the air, "Bacon!" they all chimed, and I giggled. Crabbe and Goyle seemed to catch a trail of the smell and ran faster yelling they'd meet us there. After a few minutes of following the mouth-watering sent we made it to the Great Hall. "Finally.." Draco grumbled.

We all rushed into the great hall with a loud bang catching the attention of all, We didn't notice at all, our full attention was on the food lying across the Slytherin table.

The crowd had followed our eyes to our destination and the hall broke out in laughter, that's when we broke out of our hunger-driven trance. The four of us glaring is a force to be reckoned with, most Slytherin boys got up to grovel at Draco's feet like he was a king which he is in pureblood society.

What was even worse was while the boys were busy, the Weasley that clung to Potter was talking rather loudly about the Slytherin house, Oh he was doing a great job too.

signaling the boys to go sit down. We make our way over to our table and sit down. Easing into our seats we dug into our meals and conversation sparked.

Many jokes later our laughing was cut off by Snape appearing behind us "Here are your timetables... I expect nothing more than eminence from all of you after all you were sorted into the greatest house." he stated

"If you get the need to create mischief which I believe you will, make sure you don't get caught. I'd hate to waste detentions on my own" Professor drawls as he ruffles my hair.

Severus Snape has always been my favorite teacher, ever since I was little. He taught me complicated potions and DADA spells all the time when he tutored Draco and I. Obviously, I was his favorite since he favored my work over Dracos.

I loved how he would explain things with great length and in extraordinary detail even though he didn't seem interested I could tell when he was excited to talk about something. He would straighten his posture, make more movement with his hands, and rabble about topics with much more detail than normal.
