Florida huffs, glancing over to where his headphones are on his desk. He would have to put them in at some point, it would be weird if he didn't. Once, he had to wear them once. He stares down at the headphones in his hand. All he had to do was put them on, at least once. It couldn't be that bad.
"And there's so much fucking homework-" He pulls them off too fast, losing one when he tosses them.
He isn't focusing when his brother rushes in, asking what happened. The headphones are somewhere on the other side of his room and he hopes his brother hasn't noticed yet.
It was a guy. His soulmate was a guy. What would happen if someone found out? He sighs, burying his head in his hands.
"Was it your soulmate? Are they an asshole?" His brother is looking around the room for the headphones.
He shakes his head, no one else had to know about this.
"It's fine, just a bit too loud." He hopes that's the end of it.
His brother pauses, glancing at the headphones one more time before he gets up. "If they're an asshole you have to tell me."
"I will." He replies, waiting for his brother to leave so he can use his headphones again.
He doesn't sleep that night, after enough tossing and turning he gets up and grabs his headphones. He didn't plan on saying anything, he had two years before he could legally move out.
