"Girl why must you always correct me?"
"But I mean you are singing the wrong note."
"No, I'm not but whatever..."
"Don't whatever ME. I'm just trying to help you."
"Nobody asked for your help. I'm fine."
"Over there throwing the whole song off cause you a key higher than everyone else. "
"Huh, what was that? Come over here and say it a little louder."
Beyoncé walked over to Michelle and stood right in front of her looking into her eyes.
"I said you're throwing the song off singing in the higher key."
"I'm not, but go on and do you. Please leave me alone. Bye-bye."
"Girl get it together." Beyoncé rolled her eyes and walked away.
This the pettiness that was Beyoncé and Michelle's relationship. Beyoncé thought about Michelle often. You could say she even had a crush. She liked to get Michelle riled up because she looked beautiful when she was mad. Michelle watched Beyoncé walk away looking at her body and the way her hips moved. The way she walked made Michelle want to do some ungodly things to her.
One of the many little fights that the women had that led to their dislike of each other. There was nothing major, just little cat fights like little kids on the playground. Beyoncé was the bully most of the time and Michelle the victim. The fights between the two went on for years until Kevon stepped in and made them call a truce. He hated to see the two fight knowing that they were just covering up their true feelings. While their truce was in effect both women still found little ways to annoy each other.
When Beyoncé first joined Freedom, Michelle was still in a relationship and on the road to being married. Michelle ended her engagement about a year after Beyoncé joined the choir. No one knew why Michelle ended her relationship, well besides Kevon.
Tuesday quickly approached and Michelle was putting her plan into place. She had come up with the idea to leave Beyoncé notes encouraging and uplifting her. There were about ten notes she had written over the weekend. Each note became more flirty as she wrote it.
After the first service on Sunday she went grocery shopping and purchased all the things she would need for her home for the next two weeks. Michelle cooked an awesome Sunday dinner and took some over to her aunt who had raised her. They talked and Michelle shared her fears and hopes for the future. Her aunt told her to go for it unknowingly telling her to pursue Beyoncé. Something about Beyoncé had told Michelle to take the gentle approach. She couldn't do anything but try and shoot her shot but she had to go about in a subtle way.
Which brought her to rehearsal early on this Tuesday night. She looked in the choir room and made sure it was empty before placing the note on the music stand Beyoncé would use for rehearsal. The note was written on yellow paper with purple ink and Michelle used her best handwriting for it. She smiled as she placed the note then moved her things to her section and left the room. Michelle went to the kitchen to visit Miss Vickie, the church cook. Miss Vickie could cook and bake anything you'd ask for. She was also like a therapist because everyone talked to her and she kept secrets like Fort Knox. She knew everybody's business but she was no gossip. As Michelle approached the cafeteria window she smiled as she called Miss Vickie's name.
"Ma Vickie, you in here?"
"Yes child, why you yelling? You need to save that voice for rehearsal."
