“So, breaking the rules, eh?” We both jumped as we saw Jane on the other side of the portal, leaning against a tree. I rolled my eyes and kept walking with Sally.
“Yup. Nothing to do with you, Jane.” She walked backwards in front of us, hand over her heart (if she has one), acting hurt.
“That’s not very nice, BEN. And here I thought you actually liked me.”
“On certain days. Others, you just get on my nerves. Not really in the mood for your shit, considering Jeff made the new proxy literally scream.”
“Yup. Poor mortal girl bleed from the ears and died…all because Jeff was picking on her.”
“How did you know?”
“You doubt me too much,” she placed a hand on my chest, and I heard Sally growl lowly. I squeezed her hand, and she calmed down slightly. Jane was known for these kinds of things, I don’t blame Sally for getting mad. I slapped her hand away and glared at her.
“What do you want, Jane?”
“Oh, nothing much, just a little information.” She came slightly closer.
“In exchange for what exactly?” She smirked.
“A fun night,” it came out a purr. I scoffed and rolled my eyes.
“Something else maybe?” She huffed.
“Fine. How about…a little information back?” I sighed, knowing she wouldn’t give up until she got what she wanted.
“Fine. What do you want to know?”
“Is there even a slight chance that the newest proxy could get in my way to Jeff?” I couldn’t help it, I laughed.
“Really? That’s what you wanted to ask? Oh no, there is no way. She seems to have a thing for Masky.” Sally nodded.
“It’s true, Jane. Slendy told me.”
“He did? I just guessed.”
“Good. Now for my information back.” She crossed her arms. “Those weird ox like things? Yeah, they are an unwilling part of Zaglos' army.” She looked at Sally then leaned forward to whisper in my ear. “He’s after you, BEN Drowned, and he won’t stop until he has you.” She then simply walked off.
“What did she say?” I looked at Sally. I didn’t want to worry her.
“Something that tells me we should head back. Now.” She nodded and walked with me back to the portal. We stepped through and, low and behold, Jane was fighting off one of the monsters.
“Help! He grabbed me at the last second of going through!” Sally pulled out her knife and my sword appeared. Grabbing it, Sally and I both charged. The thing hit Jane and sent her backwards into a tree, knocking her out cold. It then turned back toward as and charged at Sally. I shoved her out of the way, and the next thing I knew I was up in the air, then being slammed back down. The breath left my lungs and my back arched up under the pressure. Blood spurted through my mouth, and I struggled to breathe through it.
“Ben!” Sally screamed, her voice high and cracking. I turned slowly onto my stomach and coughed up more blood. Standing up shakily, I turned to the monster and smirked, wiping the blood from my lower lip and chin.
“You shouldn’t have done that.” I went to charge it, but it simply grabbed my arm and swung me into a tree. More blood came from my mouth, and I felt several more bones break. Then, that familiar, soft voice sounded out, but it was a little hardened.
“Wanna play with me?” I looked over and saw Sally glaring at the monster. Charlie dropped from Sally’s arms and pulled his own knife out. That bear has a blood lust of its own I swear…
