I started to adjust to my new life. However, some days went by slow and I was starting to become overwhelmed with boredom. Life as newlywed was everything dreamy and more, but I needed friends to talk to and an personal objective to live for. There was plenty to do, but no one to share it with and seldom was dawning. Winter was emitting and the slight chill rekindled my desire to go outside. Aunt Karen and Lasette wasn't expected to arrive for another month or so, and I was left to idolize in my own time. Although I wasn't very fond of Lasette, I would have enjoyed her snide comments in my enmity of boredom. I spent most days reading by the fireplace while Sam was at the Jared Mathis Research Institute or working at the clinic. In the afternoons we would go out to the city for entertainment and dinner but the days were quite dull and lonely.

Selena was out to her own mysterious ventures and sometimes wouldn't return for days. I didn't seem to mind, except the part where she felt Teal to fend for herself. Sometimes I'd spend hours of the day talking with Teal and assisting her nurse, Meadow. Teal was making progress little by little and even managed to say few words like, hello and goodbye now and then, but quickly returned to her carrot-like stage.
One day after spending hours with Teal, Sam finally returned home. I greeted him at the kitchen with a cold glass of water. "Hello, Blue Eyes. How was your day?" he asked.
"The same as everyday. How was your day as an ageless man with a new adventure everyday?" I asked sarcastically.

He came up from behind me and wrapped his arms around me and planted a kiss on my forehead, ''I've got a surprise for you, gather your coat.''
"Where are we going?" I asked excitedly.
"You'll see,'' he replied.

We arrived in downtown New York several hours later before reaching our destination. "I didn't want you staying in that big mansion all day by yourself waiting for me to arrive home. So..." he said as he led me out the carriage and onto the sidewalk.
"Wait!" He said halting me as he ran behind me and covered one hand over my eye and steered me a few paces towards the left. "Now, open them," he said as he dropped his hand from my eyes. I opened my eyes to see a flower shop with many assortments of colors and sizes of florals hanging in the display. Then I read the words plastered on the display window that read Rain's Flower Shop. I shockingly looked up at Sam and he happily nodded his head while smiling goofily at me.
"It's yours. It's all yours to do as you please," he said as he kissed me on the cheek, wrapped his hands around my waist, and rested his head on my shoulder. We both stared and engulfed ourselves in the moment and observed the Flower Shop.
He took my hand kissed it several times and I giggled. "Let's go inside," he suggested as he steered me towards the door still gripping ahold of my waist.
There was a strong aroma of florals and pollen as soon as we walked inside. The room was well lighted from the natural rays of the sun. Everything constructed of a light brown colored wood from the floor to the walls and the ceiling. The counter was placed at the end of the store in the left corner. There were dozens white tables and each displaced a different assortment. There were red roses, violets, carnations, and many flowers I had never seen before of blue, black and pink. I opened my mouth and gasped at the beauty.
"Do you like?" Sam asked shyly.
"Of course, when can I start working," I said grabbing a hold of him and hugging him tightly, before we were nose and nose staring at each other.
"Tomorrow," he said as he took ahold of my waist and kissing me gently on the lips.
"But on one condition," he said.
"And what's that?" I asked curiously.
"Allen, will protect the store at all time when your working. I wouldn't want anything to happen to you or my little one," he said.

''And I wouldn't want anything to happen to you, either,'' I said.

''I want to make love to you over and over again,'' he said as he kissed my neck, took off my dress and pushed me against the counter.
