---I peered over the ledge with an unusual sense of nausea that slowly chewed into my stomach. leaning back with my legs still swinging over the side of the cliff, I let out a frustrated sigh.

"Ebony?" I heard a distinctive voice, Kai's voice.

"Mmm?" I replied jolting out of my somnolent daze. The nausea had faded away completely when my best friend said my name. However, I could not turn round to face Kai, instead I tried to recollect the feeling. The nausea.

You can call me wierd, to be quite frank I don't really care anyway. Not if the feeling will bring back the safety of knowing that no matter what, I can always come down here and see the waves and the swallows fly as the horizon sets. Not to mention being on the edge of falling off a bloody large cliff.

"Ebony, seriously?" This time I turn round to face Kai. his brown hair falls down into his right eye as he lifts his right eyebrow to the very top of his forehead in anticipation.

I swear half of my friendship with him is based on his quirky eyebrow.....

"EBONY!"

"WHAT?" Dammit, caught daydreaming again.

"Ugh finally, I swear if I had to call your name for the fifth time I swear I would have smacked that dirty smirk right off your face...." He trails off.

"Gees, Kai when did you become a such a bloomin diva?" I replied smirking at him just to annoy him more. Aah Kai, so gullible, so oblivious.

"Since the welcome ceremony, which is starting in a minute, girlfriend!" Aaah poop.

"C'mon!!" He cries out while hastily grabbing the left arm of my leather jacket and jolting me off the ground to face him.

"Run Ebony we're gonna be laaaattteee." His last word drifted off slightly as he began to run as fast as he could while dragging a grumpy, tired 14 year old girl behind him.

Wow, the thought makes me even more tired.

We ran straight into the woods and past a large oak tree that was covered in carvings, my one was on there somewhere buried behind the new ones.

The light was fading rapidly as the sunset faded down with it, so I could barely see where I was walking. Kai knew where he was going by using his senses, I could not. Apparently the king alpha had blessed our alpha with the gift to decide who had better senses than others.

I unfortunately had none. But it was extra unordinary, as I had meant to be been blessed with them. I also have not found a mate. I seriously doubt I ever will find one any more because as far as everyone else is concerned I am weak. I won't ever let that get to me though...

"Owwww!" I stumbled and fell forwards Tripping over thin air. Typical Ebony. Kai stopped and turned to face me.

"You ok princess? You haven't hurt anything have you?" Kai actually looked concerned... For once.

"Aargh no my leg is killing me." I grimaced, glancing down at my leg. It was swollen and slightly red and puffy. I was surprised I could even see the damage in the dark. Must've been so extensive that I didn't need extra senses to see it.

Kai sat down next to me and began to examine my leg.

"Does this hurt princess?" He asked sweetly.

A sharp pain shot through my leg and down to my ankle. It felt like my whole leg had been twisted round and was now facing the opposite direction.

"AAAAAARRRGGGGHHHH!!!"

"Mmm I guessing it does hurt." He said still smiling, if I didn't know better I would assume he enjoyed watching me in pain. Bloody lunatic. This kid is wrong in the head.
