"Come on, don't be such a pussy," Liam said.
"I'm not being a pussy; I just don't want to get in trouble or get attacked by a homeless person," Replied Jake.
The two friends were sitting in Liam's small room, His family's apartment was in a rough area in near the Bronx. Liam thought he had discovered something the government was "hiding" from the public in the subway station near his apartment. Jake had been listening to Liam go on and on about his newfound conspiracy theory, responding with the occasional head nod. Jake is more daring than Liam, it's just that Jake was more of the see it to believe it type. This wasn't the first time Liam had made up something ridiculous. Last summer he was trying to convince Jake that a half bat half raccoon monster was living in the alleyway near their favorite pizza shop. He went on and on about it, drawing what he said it looked like, trying to get video proof. He never did of course, and slowly he stopped talking about it. Jake had a couple of ideas why Liam always made stuff up, the biggest reason was for attention. Liam's mom worked three jobs to try to provide for the two, Liam was still too young to get a job but he would always say, " as soon as I'm old enough I am going to work so maybe I can eat dinner with my mom some nights." Jake felt bad for Liam in that aspect; Jake had a good home life and always invited Liam to come over for dinner. Jake decided it was best to listen to him whenever he came up with a new conspiracy theory, it gave Liam something else to think about other than his family situation.
"Listen Jake, this time I am serious, something is going on with that subway station, like I said, one night at around 12:00 AM, I got hungry, since we had nothing in the house I decided I was going to go to the gas station to get a snack. On my way there I noticed some funny looking dudes in different uniforms than the normal looking security guards. I was curious, of course, and I snuck up to where I could hear them. I overheard them talking about a train, something like it's running late this time. I tried to get closer, but they saw me and told me to scram. Jake, I haven't told you this yet, but I have been going there every night. So far, I know for a fact that a train that isn't normally running during the day runs from about 11 pm to 1 am. Please, just one night is all I'm asking, come with me,"
"Liam, have you ever thought that maybe it's some important politician or celebrity, it could very easily be that. You need to stop and think for once, what other possible reasons other than someone important is on board for special security to be located near the subway?" Said Jake.
Liam hesitated, then replied, "If it just was a one-time thing, I would agree with you. It isn't though, I have been out for 2 weeks straight, every night from 11 PM to 1 AM the same funny looking guards show up, they always talk about the train, not about a person. Something weird is going on and tonight I am going to take a closer look, are you in?"
Jake took a long moment to think, he would rather Liam not be by himself if he was going to do this, and he most definitely was, there was no way he could talk him out of it.
"Just one night, and I am not staying out till 1 A.M either. We go there, snoop around, then leave, okay?"
Liam's face lit up with excitement, "Okay! I will make some preparations; you go and do the same."
Jake was confused on what he meant by "preparations", so he just agreed and started on his way home, he didn't feel like he wanted to know what Liam meant. On his way home, Jake stopped at the convince store for some snacks and water, since that was all he could think about for "preparing". He got home, turned on the T.V, and slowly forgot about his plans for the night.
Jake was jolted awake by the loud ringtone his phone was spitting out.
"Crap... its almost 11, that must be Liam." Jake said through a yawn
