Chapter 3.

"So you know the whole instinct ceremony?" I nodded. "Mine hasn't been conducted yet. I'm a lonely soul..." Noah sighed in fake exasperation.

It was eight o'clock in the morning and Noah had been at my side for almost an hour, bugging me with facts about werewolf tradition. He knew it was annoying me, so he did it all the much more.

After he left last night, I fell asleep quickly but the nightmares still plagued me. Yet, this time, my attacker broke the bones in my limbs before killing me. It was worse than before, and the nightmares overall seemed to be getting more and more horrific. If I were to get rid of them, I might have to see the pack doctor and see if she could give me sleeping pills. I knew I would go mad if they continued. I even almost asked Noah to stay with me last night, but knew we didn't know each other well enough and realised it was a stupid idea. Therefore I smiled at him and let him leave without a word.

Noah was looking at me with a stellar performance of a pained expression. If being a beta didn't work out for him I bet he could be an actor. "How come?"

He sighed once more and I couldn't help but giggle. "Both myself and my parents have been much too busy to be bothered for a non-important ceremony...so I will soon die."

"Oh, stop being such a drama queen!" I scoffed and elbowed him.

"Excuse me if I'm sad that I'm going to die. You will too missy if you don't have a ceremony." He grinned and leaned closer to me. He then looked around the room as if someone was going to catch us doing something we shouldn't be. "I may or may not have overheard that your ceremony will be in about three weeks...it was going to be a little later but Xavier wanted it earlier so you could see he is your mate. Blah, blah, blah."

I grinned at him. "Why don't we just have a joint one? I was supposed to have one with Lukas...but I bet he'd be happy it was with you instead." I suggested, and lay back on my bed to get more comfortable.

Noah lay back with me, his arms folded behind his head. "Why not? I'll have to clear it with Xav." He turned to me, lying on his side. "He might not be happy that we've been hanging out."

Shrugging, I sighed. "So I can't have friends now?"

"I didn't say that. Just not, attractive male friends like myself." He beamed at me.

"Of course, because I would very drawn to your dashing good looks."

Noah beamed once more, and leaped of the bed. He rushed to the window, put his hands on his hips and slowly started strutting around my room. "I could be a model."

He turned and posed; winking at me. "Vogue." I told him, "I would totally have posters of you on my wall."

"Who wouldn't?" Noah exclaimed and suddenly jumped onto the other side of my bed. It jostled my ankle slightly and I barely winced. He noticed this, and started gently probing my bindings.

When there was no pain with the small jabs, I smiled. "Maybe I'll be up and about by tomorrow morning. Or even later on today?"

"You shouldn't be healed until at least tomorrow night!" He grinned and slowly crawled up the bed towards me. "That's amazing. You're like a superhero."

I laughed at his ridiculous antics. "Or maybe I'm a werewolf with fast healing?"

Noah smirked, "There's always that possibility."

"You're an idiot."

"That may be so, but I am an attractive idiot." He told me, and pushed me into a sitting position. "Do you want to see if we can venture downstairs? I'm famished and I swear I smell pancakes."
