🇮🇹Come nasce il gruppo?
Nel 1976 la prima formazione prevedeva tre ragazzi: Vince Clarke, Andrew Fletcher e Mark Pex. Si diedero un nome ma non ebbero tanto successo. Successivamente nel 1979 Vince Clarke fonda un altro gruppo con Martin Gore,un ragazzo di un altro gruppo neanche tanto famoso. Si aggiunge a loro Andrew Fletcher e si danno un nome "COMPOSITION OF SOUND".
Però i ragazzi si rendono conto che manca un vero cantante. Un giorno però fortunatamente in un locale notano un ragazzo cantare "Heroes" di David Bowie, questo ragazzo è David "Dave" Gahan.
Ai ragazzi questo Dave piace, quindi gli propongono di unirsi al gruppo e Dave accetta. Intanto Dave trova finalmente il nome per il gruppo: "DEPECHE MODE". Per il nome Dave prende spunto da un'omonima rivista francese. "Depeche mode" significa gazzettino di moda.
Nel 1980 la band con il brano "Photographic", scritto da Vince Clarke ,esordiscono ad una compilation "Some Bizzar Album", realizzata da alcuni gruppi emergenti in quel periodo.

In 1976 the first line-up included three boys: Vince Clarke, Andrew Fletcher and Mark Pex. They gave each other a name but were not so successful. Then in 1979 Vince Clarke founded another group with Martin Gore, a boy from another band not even so famous. Andrew Fletcher is added to them and they give themselves a name "COMPOSITION OF SOUND".
But the guys realize there's a real singer is missing. One day, however, luckily in a local they notice a boy singing David Bowie's "Heroes," this guy is David "Dave" Gahan.
The boys like this Dave, so they propose him to join the group and Dave agrees. Meanwhile Dave finally finds the name for the band: "DEPECHE MODE".
For the name Dave is inspired by a French magazine of the same name.
In 1980 the band with the song "Photographic", written by Vince Clarke ,debuted on a compilation "Some Bizzar Album", made by some emerging groups at that time.
