*Zayn's POV*

“What?!” I said, choking back a gasp. Is Perrie out of her mind??

“I like you, Zayn. I really do.” Perrie repeated as she looked down.

Ah great, another problem. I rubbed my face with my palm a couple of times, not knowing what else to say.

“Perrie.. look…” I sighed. “You’re nice and everything. You’re gorgeous and talented and nice… but”

“But…?” Perrie questioned, prompting me to continue what I was about to say.

“But you’re just a friend. I like someone else..” I admitted. Geez, I wasn’t even supposed to tell anyone that some’s caught my eye… But Perrie deserves to know. Rejecting her is one thing, lying is another.

“What?? Perrie’s eyes bulged. “Who?” Her eyebrows furrowed and I just shrugged. I wasn’t ready to tell anyone just yet. I wanted Hazel to know first.

“Ah!” Perrie gasped. I shot her a look of confusion. “Ahhhh!” she pointed at me again, her eyes full of knowledge.

“Er…. Are you.. okay.. Perrie?” I asked not knowing what was happening. I glanced around to and shrugged at the people who raised an eyebrow.

“It’s that puny girl I saw at the loo, isn’t it? In the restaurant that you had breakfast in?” Perrie smiled wickedly.

“What?!” Jesus, am I busted already? “How on Earth did you know her?”

“Yeah, we went to the loo at the same time. And I heard her gossiping with that brown haired weirdo she was with who a foot taller than her.” Perrie smirked.

“That’s not a nice thing to say…” I said, getting angered. I never knew Perrie could get rude.

“Didn’t know you were attracted to dwarves now, Zayn.” She smirked again.

“You’re being rude, Perrie. That’s crossing the line.” I said and I started to stand up so I could leave before I do something or say something I regret but a hand grabbed my sleeve and I turned to look Perrie staring at me with puppy dog eyes.

“I’m sorry, Zayn. That was a very mean thing to say. I apologize. It’s just that.. I’ve never been rejected before. Stay, please.” Perrie breathed. “Please.”

“Fine.” I sighed. “But I’ll be going right after we finish the meal.” I replied disapprovingly.

After a few mnutes of nothing but awkward silence, our orders finally came and we started to eat in peace. Quietly. Perrie tried to make small conversations here and there but it would just vanish awkwardly when no one knew what to say next. I still haven’t forgave her about what she said about Hazel. That was really mean.

We finished the meal and said goodbye. We parted ways with an awkward one-arm hug with her whispering “I’ll get you to myself, Zayn. Even if it means getting Hazel out of the picture. Remember that.”

I grumbled and scratched my head as I walked to our hotel door. Perrie’s just making everything else more difficult than it should be. And what does she mean getting Hazel out of the picture? I’m paranoid as hell and I still haven’t told Hazel that I like her. Jesus Christ.

I took a sit down the sofa and glanced around. Huh, no one’s here. Probably out to the mall already.

I decided to call Niall to confirm. I dialled Niall’s number and….

Ring..

Ring…

Ring……

(Yellow?) a voice thick with irish accent answered from the other line.
