I've Always Loved You Too (AstaxNoelle)

"Friend"

It's been two years since Asta became the Wizard King. He had done everything he said he was going to do except one thing, he was still going to propose to Sister Lily and was determined to marry her. He's already asked about 5,000 times already and every time she says no, but that doesn't stop him. So here Asta was looking out his window in his office. He sees the famous skull and thinks to himself
"Let's go pay Sister Lily a visit then I'll propose to her..."
His thoughts are interrupted when he gets a call from the king of the Spade Kingdom

"Hey Yuno, what's up"

"Hey Asta, something has come up in the Spade Kingdom, Vanica has escaped and causing chaos but I am currently busy in the Heart Kingdom, could you go and take care of that for me?"

"SURE YOU CAN COUNT ON ME YUNO!!!!!"

"Ok Asta no need to yell I can hear you very clearly, Loropechika also sends her regards"

"HEY LOROPECHIKA!!! I GOT TO GO NOW I'LL VISIT YOU WHEN I GET BACK"

"Ok bye Asta"

"BYE Y..."
Yuno hung up as quickly as he could before Asta blew out his eardrums.
Asta was on his way out as quickly as he could to the Spade Kingdom, little did he know someone was behind the door,

"Oh hey Noelle, why is your face so red??"

"BakAsta no it's not"

"Well I'm kind of in a rush, but since you're here I'd think you'd want to come with, Vanica has escaped in the Spade Kingdom, Yuno asked me to take care of it because he's off in the Heart Kingdom, you want to come with?"

"Vanica has escaped?!?! Okay we better go like right now"

"OKAY LET'S GO!!!"

Asta headed off on his demon slayer sword and Noelle with her Valkyrie armor to get to the spade Kingdom as quickly as possible.  Asta starts to speak

"Let's get this done as quick as possible, I was planning to go propose to Sister Lily before Yuno called me"

Deep down Noelle felt her heart break. He always talked about proposing to Sister Lily in front of her and she knew Sister Lily was the only woman in his eyes and that gave her an even more reason to keep her feelings hidden for him. She always wanted to tell him, but she knew he would never feel the same for her and she was afraid of rejection. She didn't want to experience that rejection again, as her siblings gave her when she was younger.  In a sincere  and saddened voice, Noelle responded,

"Asta...will you... will you ever give up on Sister Lily...you know she can't marry..."

"NO!! I'M NOT GIVING UP SHE'LL SAY YES EVENTUALLY!!!"

"Oh okay..."

Asta's POV
Noelle seems off, usually she's yelling at me for this kind of stuff, she seems so sad and her voice wasn't as confident when she was talking to me.  Maybe she's just upset at the fact Vanica has escaped and is remembering her mother.

"Hey Noelle, are you okay?"

"Yea of course, why do you ask?"

I know Noelle is just putting up an act because that's how she is.  She's stubborn and doesn't like opening up to others, but we've gotten past that, she's opened up to me before about her mother, so why is she not telling me anything now?

"Noelle, you know you can tell me anything right, you're more than just my comrade, you're my friend."

Noelle's POV
That word, "friend" Of course I know we're friends and not just comrades, but that's the thing, I don't want to be friends, I want us to be more than friends. My heart just can't take it anymore, I love him, but he is set on another woman so I will just lock these feelings up and take them to the grave. 

"Yea, I know Asta thank you, but I'm okay I promise"

"I'll trust you on that but don't worry WE'LL TAKE DOWN VANICA AGAIN TOGETHER!!"

"Okay!! LET'S GO" Noelle smiles

Asta's POV
I don't really understand why, but just seeing Noelle sad makes me sad. My heart kind of shatters seeing her sad, but right now she's smiling and that warms my heart. She looks beautiful when she smiles, wait did I really just think that?
