Ruffled Hair

The smell of the ocean  filled his nose. The air ruffled his hair. Will took a deep breath. " Inhale for four seconds... hold for four... release. repeat". He followed  this sequence  several  times to  clear his mind. He always liked water and the ocean but he never went on a cruise ship, not even a boat. Going on a cruise was big  enough  for him. But a field trip to St. Peter's  Bascilica  was  unbelievable  to him. He always wanted to go there for a reason unknown  even to him. He was eager to arrive there. Something  about that place really caught  his attention. He walked across the ramp to the ship along with everyone else in his class. "WILL! WILL! HEY!" a voice cried out in the back if the crowd of boys and girls. Will turned in response  to the voice,  knowing  who the late person was. "Felix. Gods, you  are late again. When are you ever going to be on time man?" Will said in a good humored tone. Felix, a long known  friend of Will, was tall, muscular , and intimidating. Though, intimidating  he was actually  kind hearted and sensitive. "Sorry! I made it just in time huh?" Felix said. "Yeah. 'bout to board the ship right now " Will said in return. Everyone  checked into the ship and boarded. Will stayed behind for a minute  to look off into the sea. Something  caught his eye. Something gleamed in the ocean. A shade if green stared into his eyes. He heard faint shouting and war chants that no one else could hear. Fire volley! a man said followed  by the sound of arrows firing. Someone grabbed Will's shoulder. He spun around  quickly  seeing who grabbed him, but was relieved to find thaf it was just Felix. "Hey you good? You're kinda' sweating" Felix said. "Yeah... I'm good. Let's go inside and see where we will be living  the next week. " Will replied. They checked into the ship and walked to their room. As they walked, Will thought to  himself, "What the hell was that?"
