"Go braveheart." I hear them scream at the top of their lungs, who will believe that I am doing this for two hundred naira beske and kunnu.
I am Dada the brave heart, the grandson of Labanjo, the Great Haunteer, the one who drinks the blood of irokos and feeds on the barks of buzzard vultures.
Even a daychild knows that the house of Jango, is no place for Tiko-Tiko, neither is it a Jele'O Simi for raising mutinous babies. It was a haunted place, a place where people die and gnash their teeth.
Every footstep in the cold, soft, and heartless Agbala takes me closer to my death, my sweet vapid death.
Few minutes later, the fitila torches on the wall all lighted up, before me was a beast, six feet tall, eight inches long, seven heads like that of a panther, skin like that of a baboon.
"Who are you?" he asked, fiery smoke puffed out of his mouth.
"Dada Jaweed, grandson of—"
"Braveheart, the one with living vineyards hair, follow me." He interrupted.
"To where?" I asked.
"You have a long way to go, You will be a Haunteer like your grandfather," he said.
