How could something end so fast? How could Draco leave Y/n like their relationship was nothing? It didn't make sense for them to end. They are soulmates, well were soulmates.

Y/n always had her doubts about Astoria. Even though she was a year younger than her, she always seemed to catch everyone's eye. She always felt insecure thinking about Draco looking at her the way he looked at Y/n. But with his cold hand on her cheek and his blue eyes looking into her e/c, he always reassured her, "No one catches my eye like you."

Oh Merlin how stupid did Y/n feel. She felt so stupid believing him and still loving him, even after he hurt her. All those things he told her to make her feel better, were all lies.

After a long class of Charms, Y/n gathered all her belongings. She was usually the last one to leave the classroom since she always wanted to write down every note. Professor Flitwick didn't really mind, Y/n was quite fast at writing. Closing her book and putting it in her bag, she swung it over her shoulder. She walked to the Great Hall with her head down as she looked at her journal with her notes. She had a habit of always double checking everything. Not realizing there was a turn towards the end of the hall, a body crashed into hers.

"Jesus Christ," she mumbled as her book fell from her hands onto the persons shoes. She was about to reach for it and apologize for being clumsy, but a familiar cold hand froze her. She watched as Draco reached for her journal handing it to her. "I didn't mean to bump into you," He spoke and Y/n nodded, unable to speak a word. This had been the first time since their break up that they encountered.

They both stood there in awkward silence, both not knowing what to say to each other. "How are you?" Draco finally asked. Y/n looked at him with an annoyed and mad face, "Are you serious? How am I?" Y/n snatched her journal back from his hands. How dare he ask how she was? He was the reason Y/n was in so much pain.

"I didn't mean it like-" Draco began, but was cut off by Y/n. "Well Draco how do you think I am? How would you be if the person you loved broke your heart and went with the person they told you never to worry about? Hmm, how would you feel then, Draco?" Draco's mouth hung slightly open, how could anyone respond to that?

"You broke me! You betrayed me! You're a pathetic liar, who doesn't deserve happiness. Fuck you. How could you do that to someone you once loved?" Y/n's loud voice rang in the empty hall. By now she was crying because she was angry. Angry at him for hurting her.

Y/n wanted nothing more than to scream at him and express how badly she was hurt. But she was too sad to get any words out. Draco watched as her tears fell past her face. "I'm so sorry." He finally said. Y/n looked at him with her watery eyes, "You aren't sorry. You just feel bad. If you were sorry you would have some decency to not move on so quickly."

Y/n wiped her tears and let out a huge sigh, "Was I nothing to you all along?" Draco sighed through his nose, "Of course not! You were my everything," Y/n shook her head in disbelief, "If I was your everything you would have fought for our relationship, not walk out over some stupid fight. Maybe that fight was just an excuse, huh?"

Flashback

Potions class always involved a partner. Y/n never had a problem with, who Professor Snape partnered her up with. Draco however, always seemed to get jealous when her partner was a boy. Y/n never understood his jealousy because she was never one to betray him.

That day Y/n and Theodore Nott had been partners working on a simple potion. "I'll grab the ingredients, can you heat up the cauldron?" Theo asked her and she nodded. He quickly came back with all the ingredients and they began to work. Occasionally they had small talk and he made some jokes causing Y/n to laugh, but who wouldn't? Theo was a very funny and charming guy.

Draco however did not think so. He would constantly look up and then scoff or give death glares to Theo's back. But that day something so small triggered his patience.

When Y/n was putting the heavy cauldron away, while Theo was right behind her about to put the ingredients away– she reached her arms above trying to put it away. Almost slipping, Theo naturally put his hand on her back, so she wouldn't fall. "You alright L/n? Looked like you had some trouble there." He laughed and Y/n blushed from the embarrassment. "That bloody cauldron is so heavy," She sighed as they both went back to her desk. Y/n looked up seeing a very angry looking Draco. Of course he had seen that and misunderstood.

Once Potions was over Draco immediately pulled her apart from everyone. "We need to talk privately. Now." He commanded. His cold eyes made Y/n slightly worried, she hated when they fought. Going outside to the courtyard where no one was around, Draco finally spoke. "What the fuck was that?" He asked angrily, but Y/n was confused. "What was what?" Draco scoffed not believed her, "That little incident with Theo, are you cheating on me? Is that why you blushed so much when he touched you?" Y/n couldn't believe what Draco was telling her, how could she ever betray him? "Are you serious? Is that what you think of me? You'd think I cheat on you?" Draco didn't respond, he just looked at Y/n like she had actually betrayed him. Y/n scoffed, "Are you serious? You really think I'm that trashy?" Draco rolled his eyes, "I wouldn't doubt it, you two were flirting during that class."

Y/n laughed at how stupid he was being, but Draco did not find it funny. He was already angry with what had happened in Potions, and her laughing set him off. "Fuck you, were over." He simply said as he walked away. Y/n stood there trying to comprehend what had just happened. Draco had just broken up with her because he was a jealous? How did that make any sense?

End Flashback

"Was that small incident the perfect excuse to break up with me?" Y/n asked him, but Draco didn't say a word. "We're you finding a way to breakup with me since the beginning and Theo helping me not fall the answer? You accusing me of cheating was the perfect excuse for us to break up? You didn't even fight for us. You just left our relationship like it was nothing. Like I was nothing to you. And then not even a month later you're with the girl I had my doubts about? The girl who you knew made me feel insecure?"

"No, no it wasn't like that-" Draco began, but Y/n didn't want to hear him. "Of course it was like that! You have always wanted her! The way you looked at her when she got up or the way you smiled when she laughed. You thought I couldn't see it, but I did Draco. I saw the way you looked at her. It was the way you looked at me once." Y/n let everything she was holding in for so long out. She needed to let Draco know how much he had hurt her.

Draco just watched as the girl he had broken cried in front of him. He didn't know what to do. He couldn't decide if hugging her was the right thing to do or just give her space. He felt like such an asshole. He didn't even think about how his actions could affect Y/n. He knew he was selfish, he always was. But this time watching the girl he once loved, cry her eyes out made him feel like absolute shit. He knew her pain was his fault and there was no way he could fix her.

Y/n finally wiped all her tears. She closed her eyes and controlled her breathing, not wanting to cry anymore. Draco wasn't worth her tears anymore, he wasn't anything to her anymore. Finally grabbing her bag, she stood up straight, looking at Draco with her red-stained eyes. "I know we weren't perfect, but I never felt this way for no one. And I just can't imagine how you could be so okay now that I'm gone? We were together for years and you left like I was nothing to you. You walked away like I wasn't worth fighting for. Guess you didn't mean what you wrote in that letter about me, you said forever now I walk alone past your dorm."

And with that she turned away from Draco and walked away. She had finally let all her emotions out. Draco finally knew how much he had hurt her and it pained him. Y/n felt like a weight had lifted from her shoulders. Because even if she still hated seeing him with someone else, Draco finally knew how much pain he caused her.
