~Chapter 9~

Sophie and the whole group left Kenric and Oralie.

Oralie couldn't believe Kenric was back. Her Kenric. And never again was she leaving him.

"I'm so happy you're back." Oralie said

Kenric took her hand.

"So am I." He said

"I'm leaving The Council." Oralie declared

"You are?" Kenric asked

"I don't ever want to leave you again." Oralie said

"What made you decide?" He asked

"Um... You coming back." Oralie said

"And..." Kenric prompted, taking her other hand.

"They found out that I'm Sophie's mother and Bronte's Sophie's father." Oralie sighed

"Bronte?! That old grump bag?" Kenric exclaimed

"Yup!" Oralie giggled

Oralie hadn't giggled for so long. It felt good.

The Council walked out.

Sophie trailed behind, holding Calla in her arms. Lily, Fitz, and Kenric followed her.

Oralie scooted closer to Kenric.

"I'm leaving the Council." Oralie said at the same time the Council said

"You and Kenric can join the Council."

The whole group looked shocked

"You're leaving?" Emery asked

"I need Kenric. Even if that means leaving the Council." Oralie declared

Kenric stared at Oralie

"You don't have to Ora." Kenric told her

"You're right. I don't have to. I want to." Oralie said

"My time on the Council has been wonderful. I really do love my people. But I need Kenric." Oralie said

"What we were trying to say is..... That we want to tweak the rules a bit. We should be able to rule our people while having a family. Of course we need certain rules but we do not want to lose you either Oralie. And we certainly need Kenric on the Council." Emery declared, a small smile on his face.

"Really?" Oralie asked

"Really." Terik said

"And as Alina is the replacement of Kenric. She must leave the Council." Emery sighed

"What?!" Alina yelled.

Kenric shrunk at her shout.

"I am not leaving the Council." She said

"Alin-" Emery started

"Councillor Alina." She spat

"Alina. Kenric is now on the Council. Leave." Terik said sternly.

Alina furiously fumbled for her crystal.

"And please move your belongings back to Crystalfield." Emery said

Crystalfield must be her residence.

Alina shot Kenric and Oralie a withering glare and leaped away.

Oralie shuddered and Kenric put an arm around her.

"Wait..... What about Keefe?" Oralie asked, pulling away from Kenric

"He fled." Sophie spat.

Oralie sighed

The whole Council sat down on the grass.

"Shall we schedule when we should discuss the new rules?" Emery asked

Oralie nodded

"I'd like to be there." Sophie said

"Of course." Terik said

So they planned the meeting.

Bronte stared at her.

"What?" Sophie squirmed

"I just..... I'm happy you know." He sighed

"Thanks dad." Sophie said

She opened her arms and Bronte gratefully accepted her hug.

"I'll see you soon Sophie." Bronte smiled. 

Sophie had never seen Bronte smile. Not a real smile at least.

Sophie returned the smile. 

Bronte light - leaped away and Kenric and Oralie came in.

Kenric had an arm draped over Oralie.

"I'm happy it worked out for you two." Sophie smiled

"I'm happy I have you." Oralie smiled

Kenric just smiled goofily.

She hugged Oralie and the couple light - leaped away.

Sophie slumped.

Fitz came in.

"You ok?" Fitz asked

"I guess." She muttered 

"Keefe?" Fitz asked

"Wait!" Sophie said

"What?" 

"There's a security camera in here." She said angrily

"Ahhh! Finally Sophie. Your slow brain caught up." Keefe laughed.

His voice was coming from a corner. Sophie found the security camera and smashed it.

Fitz laughed while she cursed at the crushed bits.

They tucked the kids in and went to bed themselve's.

Silveny tried neighing. She couldn't something was in her mouth

SOPHIE! HELP! HURRY! BAD PEOPLE! PAIN! SCARED!

Silveny transmitted

But she calmed down when she recognized the scent

KEEFE! KEEFE! KEEFE! 

She transmitted happily

Sophie woke up immediately.
