"Girl I am so fucking proud of you," my best friend Shae said as I meet up with my family after graduating. "You worked so hard baby girl and I am so proud of you," my mom said. Today was such a amazing/ bittersweet day for me. Today was the day that I graduated with my BSN from the University of Alabama. I have worked so hard for this and even sacrificed so much to get here including my love life, social life, and even my mental sanity. At the age of 24, I was still living with my parents, no car, or even no phone in my name like SZA said in her 20-something song. Today was the start of a new chapter.
I arrived at the airport and said my goodbyes to my family. "We love you so much and remember to keep God first in everything you do," said my grandparents. I was bawling my eyes out because this is the first time I will literally be on my own. Walking on that plane was the start of a new beginning.
I arrived in Philadelphia, this is where I will be starting a new journey. I accepted a job at the Children's Hospital of Pennsylvania as a neonatal nurse. I arrived at my new townhouse, and all my things had arrived. My house was beautiful, everything that I could have prayed for and imagined is currently coming to me.
While taking out the leftover boxes and trash I noticed a very familiar face coming up to me.
"Hey Im Jalen, welcome to the neighborhood"
" Hi nice to meet you, Im Toriah"
PS: This is my first story I am kinda leaving this as a clift hanger until the next chapter. This chapter may suck but I promise the next will be better. Give me some suggestions/ideas and someone please design me a banner. Pictures in next chapter.
