Chapter 11
serendipity (n)
finding something good without looking for it.

*Harry's POV*
The plane ride felt like it was only a few minutes, when it had actually been a few hours.
Charlotte was laughing most of the time. Her laughing made me laugh. It was contagious to me. Everything about her was just so wonderful. And Riley was just like her. So beautiful. Blonde hair. Her eyes were slowly starting to turn green, just like Charlotte's. She had these dimples on her cheeks that I just wanted to stare at.
Both girls were-perfect. I felt like I was whipped and we barely knew each other. Mentally slapping myself I looked over at Charlotte. She was smiling and looking out the window.
"What are you looking at, Princess?" I asked her.
"The view from up here is so incredible. Come here." She spoke, motioning for me to look out the window with her.
"Stand up, love." I whispered, sitting down in her chair.
She sat on my lap and exhaled deeply. I wrapped my arms around her waist and looked out the window.
"You're right, it is incredible." I spoke softly.
"It's the second best view." I whispered.
"Oh? And what's the first?" She twisted her body and looked me.
"You." I smiled.
She rolled her eye, "So cheesy, Prince." And laughed.
"It's true. I could look at you all day." I said looking into her eyes.
Charlotte just stared back at me. Licking her lips, she closed her eyes.
"Everything alright?" I asked, rubbing her back.
"Yes. Everything is perfect, Harry. Thank you. You're just so sweet sometimes that I don't know what to." She looked down.

I knew she wasn't used to a man being nice to her and saying sweet things to her or complementing her.
"I know, Charlotte. I know that it's hard for you. But we can work through this. You're strong and you will move past all of the nightmares. I promise. No matter how hard things get I will be there to help you through it. It's hard enough when it's just you, but you've also got Riley to think about. We're a team now." I smiled at her.
She just nodded and sniffled. Was she crying?
"Uhm, I'll be right back." She spoke, never showing me her face.
I sighed and looked back at the boys who were staring at me. I shook my head and gave them the look of 'having a tough time' so they would understand.
I turned back around when I heard Riley start to fuss. She was up from her nap. I stood up and walked over to the beautiful baby girl.
"Hello, gorgeous." I said and picked her up.
"Mommy will be right back." I whispered.
I sat back down in a seat and pulled out my phone with my free hand.
"Let's check Instagram, love." I spoke, tapping on the app.
Riley giggled. Everyone was going insane of the pictures I posted just a few hours ago. I loved it. Smirking, I decided to take a selfie with just Riley & I.
I started tickling her and smiled as I snapped the camera.
"You are so precious, baby." I spoke, kissing her cheek.
I posted it with the caption "Baby Riley." and posted it.
I locked my phone and started playing with Riley. Giving her eskimo kisses and tickling her cute tummy. I looked up and saw Charlotte finally approaching us.
"Everything alright, love?" I asked her.
"Yeah. Sorry about that. Just a weak moment, I guess." She sighed, sitting the chair next to me.
"I see you took a selfie with Riley... It's cute." She smirked.
"Thank you. I think I'm going for cutest instagram photos of the year." I smiled.
Charlotte giggled.
"Attention, we will be landing at Dallas International Airport in 2.5 minutes. Please fasten your seat belts to ensure a safe landing." The pilot spoke.
Everyone sighed and buckled in.
Soon enough we landed. You could already feel the humidity in the air.

*Charlotte's POV*
Hearing Harry say those things to me, pushed me over the edge. I had already been feeling like I had to cry since I woke up. Him being so sweet to me was just too much. I was thinking so much. I didn't want him to think that I was crying because of him, because I wasn't.
"Harry? Do you want me to carry Riley? I don't want her in her car seat until we get to the car." I spoke.
"Yeah, you can carry her. I'll give the car seat to security." He smiled at me.
"Oh and Charlotte? Be ready by 6:00pm because we are going on a date. Just the two of us." Harry winked.
"A date huh? Should I wear something fancy? Or casual?" I asked him as we started walking off the plane.
"Oh casual is fine. Nothing too fancy." He spoke.
"Okay." I said.
Getting off the plane was a breeze. It was just getting to the car that was a hassle. So. Many. Fans.
We stopped half way so the boys could use the restrooms. Harry, Riley & I waited with security.
The fans were lined up all the way at the gates. They were everywhere and I could barely hear myself think.
"Charlotte." Harry spoke looking at me.
I looked up at him.
"Kiss me." He breathed.
"Right here? In front of all these people?" I asked him.
"Now." He said, crashing his lips onto mine.
It took my a second to realize we were kissing. Closing my eyes, I kissed him back. I could hear all the gasps from the fans. And the cameras going off. Harry deepened the kiss and put his hand on the small of my back. Careful to squish Riley, though.
"Okay. Let's stop sucking each other's face in public. Sickos." Louis spoke out of nowhere.
We both pulled away and giggled.
I was blushing, as usual. I think Harry likes the reaction he gets out of the fans and me when he does that.
When we finally got to the car it felt like the crowd had gotten bigger. The air was thick and humid. In the distance, you could see a dark cloud covering the horizon. A storm was coming.
By the time we got to the hotel, I only had an hour to get ready Harry & I's date.
Deciding on ripped jeans, a loose tank top and sandals, I had Lou put my hair into a messy french braid. My makeup was simple. Eyeliner, mascara and red lipstick.
"How do I look?" I asked her.
"You look amazing. You have great taste in clothes." She smiled at me.
I looked into the mirror and stared at myself. I was glowing.
"Don't worry, he'll think you look beautiful. As always." Lou encouraged.
"I just... Look different." I spoke quietly.
"A happy different, Charlotte." She said hugging my shoulders.
I nodded and heard a knock at my hotel door.
"He's here!" Lou squealed.
I grabbed my purse and walked towards the door with Lou. Opening it I found a gorgeous man standing in front of me with the most beautiful flowers I've ever seen.
"Hi Princess. These are for you." He said, handing me the flowers.
I smiled, "Thank you Harry. They're beautiful. Come in so I can put these in a vase." I said.
"You look stunning, Charlotte." Harry spoke.
I blushed and smiled at him. He knew what he was doing.
I was expecting Lou to be still in the hotel room, but she had disappeared.
"You look amazing as well, Harry." I said as I put the flowers in water.
"Definitely not as amazing as you do. But thank you, Charlotte. Are you ready?" He asked.
"Of course. Let's go." I smiled.
Lou was watching Riley. Her and Lux were having a 'play date' which was so cute.
We got into Harry's rental car and started driving.
"Don't even think about asking me where we are going because it's a surprise." Harry smirked. He intertwined our hands together as he drove.
"I cannot get over how beautiful you look. Man." Harry spoke with a smile.
I just blushed.
"You're so cute when you blush." He said looking at me while at a stop light.
He laughed and squeezed my hand.
He turned on the radio and we started listening to The 1975.
"I didn't know you liked this band!" He spoke over the song.
I nodded and sang along. Soon, Harry joined in, but I stopped.
"Why'd you stop singing, love?" He asked.
"I was listening to you." I smiled.
"We're here." Harry said.
I looked up out the window and saw we were at what looked like an office building.
"What?" I asked.
"Just, shh. You'll see." He smirked and got out of the car.
I was still unbuckling my seat belt when Harry opened the car door for me.
"Such a gentleman." I smiled and took his held out hand.
"Only for a Princess." He spoke.
We walked inside the building and straight to an elevator.
Harry hit the 14th floor which was the last floor.
I kept quiet though. Our hands were tangled in each other's and I was leaning on Harry until the door opened.
"Okay. So now we are going to the stairs." Harry said pulling me along with him.
"Are we going to the roof?" I asked, really confused.
He didn't say anything.
We walked into the stairway and through another door, onto the rooftop.
I gasped.
"Oh my god." I whispered.
There was a few men waiting for us. Lights strung along our table and chairs.
"Good evening Mr. Styles. Champagne is the drink of choice tonight, is that correct?" The man asked.
"Yes, thank you." Harry spoke as we sat down.
"How did you manage that? We aren't of legal age." I giggled.
"I have my ways, Princess." He smirked.
The man poured is both a glass and walked away for a few minutes.
"This is beautiful, Harry. Thank you." I said, taking a sip of my drink.
"Don't thank me, love. You're my serendipity. I have to make you happy." He smiled.
"Serendipity?" I asked.
"Yeah. It means finding a good thing without looking for it..." He trailed off. "You're an amazing girl. And I didn't even have to look for you. You just popped into my life." He smiled.
"That's very sweet Harry... I guess you're my serendipity as well." I said smiling.
The server walked up to us again, this time with another man behind him.
"Salmon & herbs along with salad and vegetables." He spoke and walked away, leaving the other man to hand is our plates.
"Thank you kind sir." Harry spoke.
After that, a violin started playing. It sounded so beautiful.
"This is absolutely amazing, Harry." I said.
"The night's not over yet, Princess." He smiled at me.
The food was absolutely incredible. The night was absolutely incredible.
Once our dinner plates were empty-well mine, half empty, the server came over to us again.
"Dessert, cheesecake with caramel and chocolate drizzle." He spoke.
"Oh my god." I said looking at my perfect slice of cake.
"Take a bite, it's amazing." Harry said already devouring his.
It was the best cheesecake I've ever had. I didn't want it to end.
"Would you care to dance, Princess?" Harry asked me with his hand held out.
"Of course." I smiled at him, standing up.
A new song started playing on the violin and we started slow dancing.
Harry's hand on my back and the other holding one of mine. My hand was on his shoulder.
"This has been the most perfect night." I whispered.
I could hear Harry's heart beating as we danced around the rooftop.
I heard someone's camera go off and looked in that direction.
"It's okay, I told him to take a picture of us dancing before we even got here. I handed him my phone when we arrived." Harry spoke softly.
I nodded.
We danced for probably 20 minutes. Kissing here and there. Harry making cute jokes and saying sweet things, causing me to giggle and blush-before we decided to head back to the hotel.
When we got to the car, Harry looked at the picture and smiled.
"That's going on Instagram." He spoke.
I got a notification that I had been tagged in a photo by Harry. I opened it and saw the picture along with the caption, "serendipity." and I smiled.
This is what happiness felt like...
And I never wanted that feeling to go away.
