BLOOD.
Emilia didn't know what happened, but when she woke up there were dead bodies in the hotel room. They had been ripped apart savagely and fed on. She had connected the dots and knew it was Kol. That didn't mean she wasn't scared.
She couldn't move from the bed because bodies were littering the exits. She stays tucked in her blanket scared that something would happen to her next. There was even blood on the messy bed next to her, which meant that Kol could've possibly slept with those girls and then killed them. No matter how he had treated her she understood that when vampires grieve they do it way more intensely than she could comprehend. She also knew that she wasn't linked anymore and could be considered dispensable by Kol. She didn't want to wake up one morning and then suddenly her life be gone like it was nothing.
Kol comes out of the bathroom nonchalantly without a shirt on, ruffling his hair. "Good morning."
"Good morning? You have got to stop killing people right in front of me."
"You were sleeping like a baby. You didn't hear any of their screams."
"They screamed? And I slept through it!"
"I'm kidding. I compelled them to be silent."
"Does that make it better?"
Kol shrugs. Emilia looks at him waiting for his permission. She didn't want to upset someone on such thin ice. "Can I add one more ground rule?" He nods prepared for her answer. "Please no draining people of blood right near me."
"No lecture about how human life is valuable? No, I'm a human is this what I mean to you crap?"
"I can't really judge you on what you choose to eat. It's like how I meat. Yes, it hurts the animals, but I need it to survive. So I sort of understand why it's necessary, but I don't want to be a part of it. Secondly, and before you say anything this isn't sparking a deep conversation about it, I know you probably don't want to talk about it. And I know that bad things have happened recently and that you have more intense emotions, so just try not to let me see bodies."
Kol nodded his head. He appreciated the girl's answer. He's happy that she isn't too stringy on the blood thing. He had heard about how Elena acted towards Stefan because of his blood problems and was glad that she was more understanding. He is never one to talk about his feelings, but the answer also left the conversation open if he ever chose to, which he wouldn't. He decided that he would maybe try to keep the dead bodies away from Emilia's sight.
Kol's phone dinged and he looked at his phone. There was a text from Jeremy asking to meet at the batting cages. Kol quickly responded back and told him that he would meet him there. Today, Emilia would drive him there because after she was going to go to the mall and get some new clothes. Today she was once again wearing her usual sweatpants and found a tee, but she also stole one of Kol's oversized sweatshirts for warmth. They drive over to the cages and see Damon and Elena getting out of a car. Kol looks at her knowing this should be over quick. "I should be done quickly. Stay here."
