We had no idea what was coming for us, that day. We sat in our normal seats, bored as always. We said what's the point of going to school anyway. It was a Monday and everyone was lacking sleep. Their eyes only half open as the dragged their heavy feet down the hallways.
There were the select few people that no matter what day it was they were still smiling and energized. The rest of us resented them, as their high pitched voices echoed around the hallway. None of us knew that in a few short hours most of them would be dead. If we had, things would have been a whole lot different.
Chapter one
"Amelia lets go the bus is waiting!"
Amelia hurriedly slipped her socks on and searched frantically for her black boots. Her eyes spotted them across the room and she lunged for them. She bounded down the stairs with her boots in her hand and grabbed her coat and the cup of coffee from her mother. As Amelia left the house she was tempted to look in the mirror one last time but the blinking lights of the school bus stopped her.
"Have a good day sweetie!" Her mother called as Amelia slammed the door behind her.
Briskly walking to the bus refusing to look like a fool as she ran, Amelia thought about all the pointless things she had to do throughout the day. A geometry test, a Spanish presentation on literature from Argentina, and a poetry reading in her ap English class were just a few of the many things on her mind.
